Quick scout since i watched. City Rocks fell apart late so they go 1-3 for the first weekend, which isn't great. - Symir Torrence is going to be a stud at Marquette. Kid is a beast. Can't believe we even got him on campus. We won't be getting him on the downswing. Think a more athletic, better ballhandling Pickett (maybe not quite the passer, but same idea). - Andre Jackson stunk. He's never really under control with the ball and they just dare him to shoot threes and he's not even close. Don't get the hype. Super athlete, but not a super basketball player yet. - Tah'Jae Hill, who we offered earlier this week, is really good. Shot-maker who loves to shoot the 3 and can play with or without the ball (was almost always off the ball today). Good athlete, confident. I'd take him in a heartbeat. - Noah Hutchins is excellent. good handles, crafty at the rim. Probably the second best player on the team today behind Torrence. He should go higher than the MAAC even though he's small. - Jake Cook, the Shaker kid, played a bunch in a first quarter before City Rocks decided to go small. Not especially athletic, but a solid frame who'd profile as a rim-runner and roll man. I'd take him. - Reese Brown and Myles Wilmoth, who both have Siena offers, are more prospect than player at this point. Long athletic kids who are kind of tweeners at this point. Not sure I buy them as high-major kids but would be good MAAC guys. Will Amica wasn't there. 2021 Jai Smith who we offered the other day played a few minutes and was fine. I’ve been Noah’s #1 fan out here and still can’t figure out what our staff doesn’t like about him? With a basic guarantee to start next year, and maybe a little this year in a 3 PG set, I’d have to think Siena would be an attractive place for Noah. If he goes Ivy I can live with that, but another school on Siena level, it ll hurt! Lol The only thing I saw was that he's not a big catch-and-shoot guy and doesn't do a ton without the ball, so he's not a great fit as a secondary ball-handler (he didn't really do much when Torrence was on the ball). But he'd be a really good MAAC player. Hoping he doesn't hurt us! Also pretty sure at this point he's gonna prep.

Smart of Carm to stay an extra day in the ATL and stop down to see some prospects. A few very talented kids in this mix.

Not sure if the staff is still on him but Kadary Richmond just picked up offers from St. Louis, Penn State, Seton Hall and Oregon

Another good program to see... Cardozo in NYC. Putting this here since most of our HS visits are for 2020 kids but they do have some unsigned seniors as well, so we’ll see.

Tracker updated through last nights activity G, you would know better (updating the annual tracker spreadsheet); is it just me or does it seem that JC and now Carm (and staff) appear to be recruiting more than the past two coaches? It just seems that kids or their coaches are tweeting visits/offers a lot lately. Maybe they didn’t tweet 5-10 years ago so it was less noticeable from my perspective. I love all the recruiting activity; now just waiting for the acceptances to come in (especially the last 2-3 2019 ships). Thank you for creating/updating the recruiting tracker spreadsheet. It’s a nice one stop for seeing all Siena recruits.

Our coaches are out hustling and offering a bunch of kids and stretching the territory nationally with offers in MI, CA and TX now. Very interesting how far out they are spreading

Very interesting how far out they are spreading Yeah, think it's also a preferential thing about how selective an "offer" is. Especially these days, staffs will offer 40-50 kids for a class that will wind up being 2-5 kids-- what we'd call "the Iona way". The Michigan and Ohio connections make sense because Simon has ties in that area, not sure about the CA and TX stuff though. We have no "hook" out there-- offering a PG from Compton Magic and getting him here doesn't make a ton of sense, but at the same time if you like him at an AAU event, watch him a bunch all summer, and see if he's interested in a fall official visit.

One the kids west of the Mississippi is originally from Nj so maybe a longing to come back this way

It’s a nice one stop for seeing all Siena recruits. I think there are two factors going on, one is simply the explosion of social media means we see every offer that goes out there while in the past there were likely kids offered we never even knew about. The second factor that I think is a JC/Carm development is the recognition that any of these offers that the kid tweets is free advertising for the program. So you may make some extra offers to kids who you are extremely doubtful to get just to provide extra name recognition for the program. Some of the cool graphical tweets of the players with their final 6 or 10 teams that Siena has been on with a bunch of big schools has been invaluable for program exposure. And of course, there's the ever constant factor that Jimmy was lazy.
