Its a shame he left. He had a great shot. As a strong 3 point shooter he would of likely thrived in the new system. There is more to basketball than shooting a 3. In particular, with the new system of trapping and pushing the ball you had better be in shape. More than a few on the roster weren't in that kind of shape.

Being in shape just requires extra conditioning. Its an easy fix for most.

When he squared up, I always thought it was going down. BUT, thats it. No handle, no length, not athletic. Was he a good kid that worked hard? Absolutely. We need to start finding kids that are BOTH. Hard workers with athleticism.

You aren't going to be a championship team with Horn as your star player but I sure as hell would have loved to have him as a 6th or 7th man off the bench that can come in and light it up with 6 straight 3's. Would have been perfect in the Tay Fisher role. With both Horn and Tay you could tell by their first two shots how the day was going to go.

I was just thinking about another Minnesota-born guy who played one year of college hoops locally, Wheeler Baker for UA. After one year he also transferred to a school in North Dakota! (University of North Dakota in his instance).
...What is it about Albany that drives Minnesota kids to North Dakota?!

It's just funny to think like the Albany winters are so harsh, Minnesota kids look to North Dakota as a welcome respite.

While I would have liked to see Horn and Prince stay to see what they could achieve under JC as their HC, I am not overly concerned with them leaving. While both have good upside, I did not see either turning into Siena HOF level players. Now that they are gone, I am more anxious to see who JC brings in to replace them. This allows him to recruit players specific to his style of play. I wish all of JP's players who choose to leave best of luck. Looking forward to welcoming the next wave a Saints players.

At Mount St. Mary's, Christian advocated trapping - a lot - but they rarely pushed the ball. Offense was slower than average despite a lightning fast PG.

Couldn’t hold on to him with the promise of a green light to shoot 3s ... Must have quizzed MSM players and was told of JC’s penchant for “suicide” drills I def think style of play does not fit him. Good choice to leave. I dont see the run and gun in his game. Everyone that stays will be in the best shape of their lives

I agree and I know that coach will get them all in the shape they need to be to run his system.

So much of the game is mental, and conditioning part is no different. For,those who have ever run a marathon, there is the wall, where it’s all mental to continue. I sincerely hope the big men can get past the wall with JC. Friday by all accounts great kid, please just come back to,school in shape.
