Expand on that. Why would Patsos AND his lawyer leave up to 2 years that was left on the contract on the table. He went out pretty quietly when they could have fought it. If there were no transgressions they had a good case. Come on man. I know you understand this. They may have found a way to make a good case but the reality is this. If he was winning.... They could not have reached the settlement they did without the transgressions. You must understand that.

We are talking about two different things here. im guessing i need to word it this way.... had he been winning he would still be here.

And conversely, if he had no transgressions, he would still be here. Volati.e combination. To the point of this thread, as much as it would be great basketball-wise to have Pitino here, his past transgressions and current investigation make it extremely difficult for me to say we should hire him. More than basketball is involved. Spend that money on Becker.

Question is Necker interested or even Beilein. Who’s heading the search committee? Is D’arg in any way shape involved? On that subject does anyone know who met with RP, not speculation but fact.

He is still here. Transgressions enabled him to get fired. They are NOT why he was fired. B) The transgressions for which his past program is accused is going on all over the country at that level. There isnt a top 5/10 school in the country that is any cleaner than the allegations against Pitino. C) he is going to be hungry as hell to fix his image. and for those out here that have found there way to vote for certain corrupt political candidates at local to national levels ... you get no say against Pitino. #hypocrisy All irrelevant .... Said it when his name was floated months back that the College wouldn’t make this move. All it was, was an entertaining/spectacle for 36-48 hours. The Pitino rumor is now all noise and just another act in the “Siena show” that’s been nothing short of a full blown carnival. Too much of this BS is being played out in public eye. Patsos, Pitino leaks. It just looks so messy and has given the image of no internal control. It’s been a $hitshow so far..... Hope the College gets this done and gets it done right. We can’t take another miss.

First of all, NONE of us gets ANY say as to who is hired; we only get opinions. And as an alumnus of this school (and 3 other family members as alumni, including my son, who is still writing checks to Siena), I think I get as much, if not more opinion on who they they should hire. Regardless of who I may have voted for. I am reluctant buying into the rationale that because ‘All the cool kids are doing it’ that I want it for my alma mater.

Mark Singelais Verified account @marksingelais Following Following @marksingelais More Asked Rick Pitino if he’d still listen to Siena if they reached out to him: “It’s in Siena’s best interest to find someone else.”
It was fun while it lasted but time to put the Pitino thing to bed. For whatever reason it is not happening. Could be a number of issues. No need to get pissed - there's still plenty of good coaches who can make Siena a top mid-major program again.

That tweet sounds to me more like a man who was looking to take Siena to someplace they didn't want to go, not a man set on redemption.

Yup while he (Pitino) could've taken us to special places it also could have created another circus act which we don't need. Maybe a blessing. We just need to hire a winner who will recruiting his @$$ off in the recruiting trail, manage a program and COACH!
