Obviously there will be a lot of movement this offseason. Here’s a catch-all some of that.
Since Siena has basically announced Kadeem is leaving, I’ll make this without him.
SENIORS: Evan Fisher Kevin Degnan
JUNIORS: Khalil Richard Ashante Shivers Thomas Huerter Sammy Friday
SOPHOMORES: Roman Penn Jordan Horn Christian Bentley Manny Camper Prince Oduro
FRESHMEN: De’Von Baker (No LOI yet— could easily back out).
SCHOLARSHIP TOTAL: 12 SCHOLARSHIPS TO GIVE: 1
What we need: Scoring punch in a big way, overall upgrade in athleticism. PG depth if Siena loses Baker. Big depth if Friday or Oduro leaves.
Likely to see some guys announce their intent to transfer, though if Siena is serious about moving quickly to Beilein, then we won’t hear on them until that hiring is official.
Big key IMO is holding onto the core of Penn, Prince, and Horn. Those guys can be strong pieces.
Don’t want to lose too much of the roster, we don’t have enough time to fill more than 3-4 spots with quality players. Would like to see 2 high-level transfers come in, Beilein is under no pressure to win this season, load up with high-major talent and gear up for the following year. Also hope Beilein at least talks to Nico and tries to get him back. He’s a stud.

Penn, healed God willing to be put in a system where he flourishes as a distributor. Those who have left need not reapply. It's a new day, let things fall into place with a hire that builds instead of self destructing.

Bentley only here because of Prince. Shocked if both stay.

Also hope Beilein at least talks to Nico and tries to get him back. He’s a stud. It will be interesting to see what the new coach (whoever it is) wants to do concerning Nico. If Nico already has other, potentially more attractive options, he may simply leave Siena, as planned, and pursue them. No telling if the new coach would think he can work with Nico given what has transpired since Nico came to the school. If I were the new guy, and even if I were interested in bringing Nico back to the team, I would ask all of the returning players how they feel about that before making a final decision.

Again give us some back up info instead of your gut. Unless your on the inside and know perhaps JP will try to get the kids to leave in retribution for resignation it would be prudent for the kids to stay to such time they know the new coach.

IF he goes the multi-transfer route and all of our talent is sitting on the bench for a year, Nico does give the club some scoring punch in its transition year. Depends on how much the new coach is willing to put up with.

Oduro will have "options" Bentley not so much unless he wants D2

Depends on how much the new coach is willing to put up with. No. Depends on next coach- let's face it Jimmy was absolutely the worst coach for Nico - Nico needed discipline hard for a coach with no discipline to discipline a guy like Nico. I'm not saying its a good idea, just that I wouldn't shut the door on it yet

Yes, we've only been given a peek at what really transpired between Nico, Oh-no, D'Arg and his former team. The team should be polled, individually in private, as a major part of any decision re allowing him to return to his previous status should he desire to. We have very little knowledge of the intra-team discord, if any, that Oh-no might have instilled and need some time (and a new coach) to help quell the hangover. I see the fact that Siena let him remain as a student as a slight positive leaning toward a possible return.

Oduro will have "options" Bentley not so much unless he wants D2 Yes he will, and at bigger schools. He'd be an attractive transfer for plenty of higher schools. Not sure why its so hard for people like olddave and the sea to understand a player leaving when the only reason he committed here was the head coach. Happens all the time. With 3 years left, he's much more apt to leave, as opposed to a guy with only one year left that Jimmy bought in.
