well uncle tony, you have been saying that since I began perusing this page, it will not be long before coach patsos will be reffered to in the past tense at seina college. esquire walsh will handle the details and the siena faithful can turn the page.

Best for everyone involved. I wish Jimmy the best but it didn’t work and he didn’t represent what Siena is all about

Let's be real about this whole mishandled situation.Your going to have former players current players and people who know JP personally, that will have different opinions of him.No player gets along with there coach all the time.Pretty much a lot of players have been verbally abused by the coaches head and asst. You can define verbal abuse on so many ways.In my way if that's the case my college coach said some things i found verbally abusive. My high school coach in today's standards would be fired for the things he said and did.You had a coach with prior reports of conduct problems. You did little to nothing but known it serves your interest. To get out of a bad contract decision this comes down to MONEY.So Siena what you need to do is not be talking about the Franciscan way or anything moral.Because at the end of the day your no better then the JP and his allegations.Don't try and say you care about the student athlete known because you haven't for the last few years of the known actions of JP.And what about the current players going thru this BS spectacle adults are having over money. If you truly want the Franciscan way or values.Settle this BS move on hire a coach, but do it the right way.Hiring someone you already had in waiting while doing this is wrong.Because you'll throw the Franciscan way at people but it's not.How about after this you start doing things not only the Franciscan way.But the right way the way you should be running a MM run basketball program.Siena you have a great opportunity to push the reset button.Just make sure you have a solid and long lasting plan this time.GO SAINTS JMO

Excellent post, rickyp. I would have to add how incredibly sad this fiasco has made me and other Siena alumni. I have always been proud of my Alma Mater, heck my license plate is SIENA. This past winter I went to Madison Square Garden to see a Big Ten basketball game wearing my Siena sweatshirt and I was stopped by folks at the arena who remembered our NCAA upset wins. But this situation w/Patsos transcends basketball. The articles about OUR coach that have been published online by SI and ESPN and other outlets reflect negatively on ALL involved, the college, its administration and our athletic program. What strikes me as ironic is that Siena College has always prided itself on being a strong business school and yet they have totally mishandled the contract w/Jimmy Patsos, the tie that binds, To those not directly involved, these reports of Patsos abusing staff and the mishandling of finances appear to be a lame attempt to avoid a massive payout to an incompetent coach. But what do I know - I majored in English, but I do know that the Fransciscan tradition means more to me than a catch phrase in a post on the Message Board. It is how I have tried to live my life as an adult long removed from the Loudonville campus.

As an alum, not happy with the dragging of situation through the media. Do I blame JP attorney absolutely not, it business, you have to look at this situation with your head not your heart. I know some people will say stop, but the above poster had it right, time for the reset button. This isn’t your school of the 60,70 or even early 80. Times have changed.
Learn by your mistakes. The admin, AD is as culpable as the coach for mishandling this situation. They to must be made to come to task. Understand it’s academia, but keep them in their department not running day to day operations. Keep a Franciscan as head if you want, but put someone in place that has managerial experience, I mean real managerial experience, can be religious or secular . AD must go, his history is atrocious. To many hanger on at school, not willing to move on, how many programs are offered at what cost for minimum amtount of students taking those courses.Know it’s there look at St Rose.
Give the current president credit for nursing and grad programs, BUT this embarrassment also happened on his watch. Perception is 90% on how people look at you, they look at now not last year. By all accounts fine gentleman but he to needs to move on, not due to the JP hire but how it was handled.

Only good thing about this is in addition to JP being gone - D’Arg’s day are over too. He won’t be the AD IMHO when next year’s basketball season starts.

MTS I can understand, he never had a job so he doesn't understand. I’m not praying for anyone to lose their job, I’m praying for a quick resolution for all parties with the least amount of pain. I am not a crazy degenerate like yourself so stop it.
