UVM is a public university with almost 12,000 students. As Siena fans we need to be reasonable when trying to compare the Saints program to other schools. Number of students (number of alumni), public vs private, location/market all come into play. What private, catholic colleges of Siena's size in a market of Albany's size, have won consistently and retained a quality coach for an extended period of time in D1 men's basketball? Those, if they exist, should be the programs we compare Siena too. Fwiw, Becker makes far less at Vermont than JP makes at Siena.

And how much longer do you think he will be there if he keeps winning? Vermont has been able to attract some quality coaches and replace them with quality coaches when they move on. Not sure why folks here want to compare UVM to Siena. They play in different conferences and completely different institutions of higher learning. Besides each of them having D1 basketball programs, they have nothing in common in my opinion. It is like those of you on here who want to compare Saints program to UA's... completely different too... I just do not get it

They have a winning “culture” which has nothing to do with size money type of institution or conference. Look at Becker he’s making substantially less than Patsos.

No doubt UVM has built a winning culture. They've groomed assistant coaches, hired smart assistant coaches. If/when Becker moves on, they will likely replace him with Kyle Cieplicki who's been in the program as a player and coach.
I would say UVM doesn't necessarily recruited better athletes? Maybe outside Anthony Lamb, none of their players are physical specimens. None are big time recruits. They are talented players no question, play in a phenomenal system, have excellent coaching/player development.

School wants him gone, he has big contract to buy out. Best way to eliminate that obstacle is go the Trump way. Trustees asking for any audio/video proof of being a bad boy. They get it, the huge number disappears, and so does JP. Flying across the country today isnt a good sign for the hopefuls. You'd think they'd want to stop all of his spending at his point if he was really gone. I am very sure that there are plenty of video clips available, as for audio that should be everywhere too.? Are we talking about Fran or JP??

Since he is such a good friend, wouldn't Jimmy want to tell Dave Wojick face to face if there might be a change? Right? No internet in No. Cali

How about Tobin Anderson and Jimmy Patsos swap programs. Man I feel bad for those diii kids already but I feel good for Siena even more so let’s get it done. I posted on the other board. I'd be ok with that. St. Thomas Acquinas beat LeMoyne....just sayin'. Daemen beat STAC, and their coach is the ex-Canisius guy. Maybe we take him?

Shocked if he's back at UVM next year.
