The game changing 11-0 run was bad, but even worse was Siena scored a mind boggling 2 points in the final 8 minutes. No saint other than season reserve smithen scores in the final 9 minutes, and no saint other than smithen and other usual deep bench reserve huerter scored in the final 15 minutes of the game. The line in the final 8 was 1-11, 0-2 from ft and 3 turnovers. For the final 15 minutes 3-17, 6 turnovers. With the game on the line, patsos came up more empty than usual in this one. Not surprising really, I commented with about 13 min to go you could see starters were ‘gassed” In fairness to so-so he was down several players, even though Horn and Richard tried to go it was clear they were ineffective. On other hand So-so finds new and creative ways to lose all the time, so no surprise Tony I get we were down players but man oh man MC was just as pathetic. To be honest I really haven’t been all that impressed from what I’ve seen out of the MAAC so far this season. I’ve said it before this may be the worst Siena team I’ve ever seen...or at least Patsos makes it appear that way. I can hardly stand watching.

One of the worst Siena teams all time and that is because the talent is deplorable. The MAAC is down CONSIDERABLY and Siena is still in the basement. The MAAC rarely finishes in the 20s and they have been solidly at 20 for most of the season. I mean it isnt quite the AE (23) but its close this year. Speaking of the AE... people might want to get out Thursday to see the matchup of #1 Vermont @ #4 Albany. Vermont is currently ranked #51 nationally vs #137 Albany. It isnt often we get to see good college basketball in the Capital Region. some facts: Vermont has won their last 12 games in a row. The last 10 in a row by double digits. Vermont would be sitting at 14 straight (starting with the crushing of Siena if it wasnt for the 2 pt loss @ #48 St Bonaventure) Vermont is averaging 75-60 over their last 12 UA is 11-1 @ home

Another amazing stat: since 1963 Siena has never failed to win 2 games in a row ... this streak is in jeopardy

True, but still it's a slap at my beloved Fred Flintstone - guy worked hard, pounded it inside (as in carved out his and Wilma's cave) and kept his nose clean - no Mark Thomas duds for Fred.....
