Tonight marked the third straight game scoring under 60 points, (including NCAA d1 record 3ot,) and 7th overall this season. Likely the 2012-13 season’s tally of 15 games under 60 wont be beat although there are still at least 8 tries left. That season had 4 straight under 60 games so We’ll see what happens Monday.

The game changing 11-0 run was bad, but even worse was Siena scored a mind boggling 2 points in the final 8 minutes. No saint other than season reserve smithen scores in the final 9 minutes, and no saint other than smithen and other usual deep bench reserve huerter scored in the final 15 minutes of the game. The line in the final 8 was 1-11, 0-2 from ft and 3 turnovers. For the final 15 minutes 3-17, 6 turnovers. With the game on the line, patsos came up more empty than usual in this one.

Well on the bright side Friday, Smithen and Huerter have all shown they can contribute this year. Not saying they are stars or starters on any of our better teams but they can clearly contribute. I feel really bad for them...

I feel really bad for them... I feel bad for all of them. Even JP. What an eye opener it must be when your incompetence and laziness smacks you in the face.

Not surprising really, I commented with about 13 min to go you could see starters were ‘gassed” In fairness to so-so he was down several players, even though Horn and Richard tried to go it was clear they were ineffective. On other hand So-so finds new and creative ways to lose all the time, so no surprise

Our radio team, hard to believe they are among the top 11 in the MAAC, did the internet feed and mentioned the obvious fatigue in the second half - one of JP's major failings is the lack of managing time/legs - his subbing pattern is more emotional/reactionary all the time and it shows late game every game - I can't for the life of me figure out what benefit this team gets out of the practice/conditioning time they spend 6 out of every 7 days - our offense sucks and NEVER changes, our defense sucks most of the time (the talent levels of the teams we have played in the MAAC should have been stymied by an average defense), and our legs come prepared for a 30 minute game......

Sub patterns are the worst under patsos. I would say it is one of his top 5 problems. I wasn’t around for most of Beyer but at Siena patsos is the absolute worst coach I have witnessed when it comes to subbing.
They say stats are for losers which seems appropriate here. A few more:
Saints shot better from 3 from 2 and was 8-28 from inside the arc 29%. For the first time all season no Siena saint shot at least 50% from the floor.

Sammy Friday could have been a difference maker last night on the boards. Was late to game, entered with Siena leading 16-7and did not see Fisher get one rebound;one of the worst defensive big men I've seen at Siena who have had considerable minutes of playtime.Jimmy apparently had no adjustments at his disposal in the 2nd half;maybe he should take a week off, saying he had the flu or something!

Patsos the Putz (PTP) plays Camper 1 minute and Friday 2 minutes. How in any shape, manner or form can a coach think that continuing coaching that way can benefit the development of the player or the team. Look at the stats of the teams that are beating you night in and night out PTP, they are not yanking kids after 1 or 2 minutes and not playing them the rest of the game. Only time you see that few minutes by an opposing player is when they get hurt or are being inserted at the end of the game. Camper and certainly Friday could have contributed last night if given the chance and may have helped get a win instead of another loss. Look what Kadeem did when he was finally given his due minutes. PTP let's his ego and stubbornness get in the way of his own success and that of teams. Pathetic.

I think we found our new nickname like PW (Program Wrecker) - PTP - I like it. Hey hey ho ho, Patsos the Putz has got to go!!

More sad stats -
ESPN's predictor gives Siena a 45% chance to beat Fairfield at home and 35% chance to beat Monmouth at home. Those are their best remaining odds.
Siena needs to win at least one more game or they'll set the school record for losses (which is 24 done twice 04-05 and 12-13) and two more wins not to tie it.
This will be the eight straight year Siena has lost 13 or more games and the 7th out of 8th season Siena finishes with 17 or more losses. Very good chance Siena will have three 20 loss seasons in the past 8 years - 2 in the past 4 years.
Siena has only had 6 single digit win seasons since joining D1-
1976-77: 9-15 (first year in D1) 1994-94: 8-19 1995-96: 5-22 1996-97: 9-18 2004-05: 6-24 2012-13: 8-24

The people around me last night and I all agreed--the level of play for both teams was like watching a CYO game back in the '60s and '70s. I know how badly organized the Saints are, but I was stunned that Manhattan was (almost) just as bad on the offensive basics--spacing, ball movement, shooting skills, etc. To say this is a down year for the MAAC is a gross understatement.

They were surprised at Manhattan they must not have seen them play this year. That's why i couldn't understand why we played man against them. There horrible in half court offense,I've seen them play several times. We gave that game away by staying in man and fouling putting them in the bonus early.Man heck we're playing 5 against 6 in second halfs.
