Normally I enjoy Jaden's MAAC recaps...this one reads a bit (like a Siena Basketball Program Obituary

Ya think Jimmy took this clip and ran to D'Arg and the Pres with it? Why wouldn't Masiello say those things about Pastos? As long as Pastos is here Manhattan and the rest of the MAAC (and yes UA) can have there way with him.

The quotes this time of year get pretty ridiculous.

If Masiello had this record right now, he'd probably be gone.
He's fought back to 9-9. If he stays above .500 he buys himself a little more time maybe. But next year he could call again after all the graduations.

How Patsos can survive this Siena either doesn't care or Patsos has pics of D'Arg. One CBI title (four years ago)... one regular season winning season. 5 years plenty of time - see ya later.

So Syd is in DEEP trouble (next year is the last year of his deal and no way they let him coach as a lame duck without Nelson), Masiello might be in trouble, Chris Casey could be on the hot seat (if no bye this year he never will though a nice start to MAAC play), and JP’s status is in question. Maybe Maker too? I’d guess 3 coaching changes from the MAAC this season.

The quotes this time of year get pretty ridiculous. I agree that the coaches always say "what a great coach... blah, blah, blah" the other guy is. Would love to see, just once, "Yeah, Coach ____ sucks and we can always beat his team..." Actually Masiello's compliment is a little back-handed: " His teams, over the years, he's one of those guys that's always gotten more with less. He's very good with his team. Last year, they were in the conference championship, but he always gets so much out of what he has..." If Jimmy's getting "more with less", who's responsible for that but Jimmy and his recruiting issues?

Sydney is in deep shite for sure. He's underperformed every year since day 1 and they overpaid for him after Princeton, I think.
Right now, Cluess/Baggett/Dunne/Dunleavy/Reggie are all looking real good.
The rest, meh. Rice looks to me a bit like the next Masiello situation. He reeks more of a naturally middling coach who blows it with roster issues but has a decent defensive system. Next year will tell his story, one way or the other. Rutherford has to at least replace Tilghman which I think he'll do..but the rest of the issues remain the same unless they find some more impact ballhandlers and consistent big man production. They have a lot of flawed players and the turnover situation has turned out exactly as you would have thought on paper going into the year.

I'm just saying that there just might be a group of late "thirtysomethings" out there that have 'it' and can energize the league the way Brad Stevens and Shaka Smart did. Again, none of us are saying we wish we had Syd, the Munchkin, Casey, Maker or Rice now are we?
