Tim Reynolds was a Siena beat writer in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. ..now based out of Florida writing for the AP. But he follows the program closely and is plugged into the situation on the inside. Still doubt anything happens until March.

The call for change has now reached all the way to FLA, wow! Not looking good for Jimmy and crew. Not looking good for Siena program. Will be interesting to see how much this thing heats up over the rest of the season. I remember the "Ditch Mitch" and "Dump Lanier" signs when the faithful were calling for changes. Will we see the same type of "protest" for Patsos?

I certainly hope not. It does not need to happen that way. Never did. I get the frustration but to take it out like that while the kids are doing the best that they can under the regime is not cool in my book.

Agreed. However, not sure if it is the emergence of Social Media, the sign of the times and/or the disdain that some fans have for JP, but this is starting to feel even uglier than those two situations, both of which did not end well for the coaches or the program.

Agreed. However, not sure if it is the emergence of Social Media, the sign of the times and/or the disdain that some fans have for JP, but this is starting to feel even uglier than those two situations, both of which did not end well for the coaches or the program. in most situations a business severs the tie quickly and as painlessly as possible. This prevents backlash of all sorts and begins the process of moving forward quite quickly. In the case of Siena and the guarantee money they seem to be forced to give third, fourth and fifth chances simply to save $$. The problem with this approach is that things can get very ugly down the stretch. The time to do it was last year. The senior laden class failed to produce much of any success and despite some luck in the tournament getting to the final, the writing was on the wall. Siena should have yanked the bandage off as the season concluded and moved on. Instead we get to wallow around in the excrement of the situation for at last this season. Without a doubt I could choose a better coach and establish a process for doing so going forward. THAT being said... it doesnt say much that as nothing more than a previous college basketball player and fan of the program that I can make better decisions than the powers that be. The same can be said for a number of people out here. I do not state this to say "hey look at me". I say it to make a point that the professionals getting paid a boat load of cash are failing miserably. When accountability doesnt exist in the positions that make the hirings... you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over. I struggle understanding how many of those involved in the process are pro-business, pro-competitive market, pro rewarding job performance in their respective businesses yet when it comes to the religious college they attended none of those attributes apply. Perhaps this is why I am so anti-church. The hypocrisy astounds me. Anyone performing like this in a professional environment would be DONE in usual private sector employment. This career has existed based immensely on relationships created alone and not much on actual job performance. Very reminiscent of mitch with a minimal skill set better suited as an assistant.

It’s great to see that the passion of Siena fans is still there after all these years.
Keep the faith, everyone.

Beyond the church statement couldn't agree more with Saintsfan.
It's exactly my point of view as well.
At this point, this is all about "not saving money" but rather about feeling since you are paying out regardless, that Rex should have to be here to work the hours earn the money he is being paid.
This would confirm that your keeping your HC based on $$'s, not performance.
If this is the case, I am sure you could keep the monies the same and switch the responsibilities? Manning now the Siena HC. JP now a Siena Asst HC behind Watson and Abe?
Manning directed to work Rex's butt off in many ways he is not accustomed to, thus trying to run him out of the program voluntarily like he does to his players?
Let's see if he can last more than two weeks, let alone two years like Nico has when the tables are turned?

Not only that, but Greg has only worked for JP. As I have repeatedly said, Greg may have it, but he needs to get out from under JP to find out.
