Saints have a tough non conf schedule given the experience and talent level of the program. While there is a reason why they play the games you have to figure Saints will lose to Louisville and Memphis, while both programs are up in the air- can’t see them losing at home to a team with low major talent. Then you have games against St Bonnies Picked 43rd in top 144, College of Charleston (46) Vermont (64) Bucknell (70) FGCU( 73) Albany (118) Hofstra (133) Again maybe the Saints win 1 or 2 of them- just as good chance they lose all 7. Saints really need to win games against @lehigh, will be tough game on road for a inexperienced team,@ Bryant ( where they should win) and home games vs Holy Cross, Robert Morris. Looking at it realistically can’t see more than 4 or 5 wins vs non-conference schedule- with 3-10 not off the table at all. Look for this team to take some "lumps" early in the season. Hopefully it pays off in a down MAAC this year

In the OOC, I'm just watching the stats. If the key indicators like turnovers, PPS, and rebounding look ok...I'll have hope for conference play. I don't expect great W results early.
Right now we're to have too much faith in a Fisher revival. I'm on a wait and see.

Hopefully it pays off in a down MAAC this year Although this is a young team, I truly think they will surprise a lot of people. Although the ooc schedule is tough as it always is, Tony I think you're setting the bar a bit too low. I agree with the fact that the Lehigh, Bryant, holy cross, and Robert Morris games are games they should absolutely win. However with that being said, Siena is always extremely tough at home and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if we "stole" some games against some quality opponents at the TUC. The st bonaventure and fgcu games are the two that I'm really talking about. Looks like both should be headed to the NCAA tournament but with that being said, if I recall correctly, st. bonaventure doesn't necessarily fare too well at the TUC and fgcu will be a close challenge as the guys from last year's team will want to win a game that they could've finished off and won on the road. Also I wouldn't be so sold on the fact that we lose at Memphis. Tubby smith lost his two best players in the Lawson twins who transferred to Kansas, and most of the starters from last year. Is that a game the team should win? Probably not. Could they steal it? Absolutely. With that being said this team could wind up with 6-8 wins in the ooc schedule.

Penn struggled in Canada and not sure Horn can defend the PG position. Ideally Penn can handle position, if he can Saints can over achieve

Think once they gel and have longer shot clock they could improve fast in that regard. The bigs? Not sure.

We have all heard of teams that "had no business beating those teams", but they did, because they played as a team and the whole was greater than the sum of the parts. I think too often the reverse was true last year. Way too many unknowns to be guessing about the upcoming season at this point in my opinion. Let's see who earn starting spots and how they play together a few games before we start predicting.

So no-it’s not too early to be making predictions. And while we don’t know exactly how season will play out, we do have inkling. You may be right Hock, The Saints may pull an upset or two, especially if Jimmy recruited well. My point was he better have recruited well, or well it’s going to be a long season. For better or worse this team is entirely Jimmy’s

I'll take over 3-10 with that schedule, 6 or 7 wins possible and more likely. It's the average for JP. I'll take it and look forward to a new an exciting season with some new faces.

We should beat Lehigh (even on road), Holy Cross, Bryant, and Robert Morris. Then should win at least 1 of 2 of Hofstra and Albany at home. That’s 5 wins, and that’s the lowest number I’d be pleased with.

I don't think we're in a position at this point to declare that we *SHOULD* win any game. Holy Cross, Lehigh and Bucknell have been decent. Siena has been mediocre or poor. Saying *SHOULD* is a bit too cocky for a team that *SHOULD* stink. I'm hoping that Oduro can replace Brett and Javion. I'm hoping Ahsante and Nico stay healthy. I'm hoping Penn can limit TOs. We're going to need most of the guys from last year to step up considerably and most/all of the new guys to hit the ground running. We'll probably get 50% of what we really need and it probably won't come until well into MAAC play. This *COULD* be a surprise team come March but it would be stunning if the record is much beyond PIG status. At this point all we can do is hope for the best.

So going back and looking at the games in Canada. The turnovers I'm not worried about that much short shot clock first time playing in game situations. The guards not worried the bigs only real worry is can they sustain progress.Prince hopefully plays well but it's when he has the bad game, remember he's a freshman can the other bigs step up.The 4 position concern who steps up and plays well,I'm still thinking Degnan in the end when all the pieces together. If Huerter plays well that's a bonus.

On the bright side, Siena's guard play and perimeter D outside of Wright were largely crap last year. If they greatly improve the overall guard play, they can help offset the clear difference in the frontcourt.
