To answer the musical question - summer s almost over, the Whitneys' in the books, 570 young saints camped in the wonderful new Marcella complex. Four graduated seniors, some with honors, 4 new freshmen starting the Franciscan way, 4 professional basketball players realize their dream - getting paid to play. Because isn t that what it s really all about. Not entirely, standards are apples and oranges, philosophies differ, times are changing. In a dribble drive kick out world the market is extremely competitive in a what have you done for me lately and more importantly what s in it for me mentality - the AAU way. If the assistance's scoure the over the counter market for kids that can t make it on the big boards, it comes down to can I live off campus, does the school offer media degree s, and is it a four star locker room. No matter how much the family trusts the coach, the school and its facilities, standards and policies is where the rubber meets the road.
