While I agree that the timing of the vacation was less than ideal for a multitude of reasons, is it not possible that Nash was being recruited as a replacement for Nico? His offer was in late January, when Nico was on leave, and Nico's return to the team this season coupled with his decision to stay rather than transfer may explain why no official visit for Nash was ever established. Would I rather have Nash than Camper? Possibly, but I believe Camper committed before Nash was offered. Even if what you are surmising were true, wouldn't you agree that there would have been a more professional way of handling the issue? A simple call to Nash telling him the slot they were targeting him at is no longer open, thanking him for his interest and wishing him well in the future. We came out of it projecting a very callous image that can't serve us well in the future. And we will encounter Mr. Nash on the floor with a good sized chip on his shoulder to show us what we missed.

saints22...I agree with most of your post, and I don't think player 'sleepwalking' or 'having a bad run' is on the coach. Neither are missed foul shots. But it is still his job to MANAGE his recruits and staff on and off the floor. He is the only guy who calls them in and out of the game based on how he is observing the plan being effectively executed (or not). As far as the radio interview- those of us passionate about the program should listen to the entire thing. I commend him for some things said, but had to laugh when he said Georgetown has had problems because a ticket is 37.00 there isn't anyplace to park without more $$ and they aren't winning. Geez............. My 2 cents on JP without getting into a long debate. His best attribute as a coach has always been how hard he gets his players play. His teams are grinders. Wins seldom come easy and losses are generally pretty close. I always expect his teams to respond to an opposing team's run with one of their own. In essence, his teams tend to be pretty good counter-punchers. This past year was the first that I thought the team gave up on a couple of games (back in December). There was obviously some chemistry issues with this team that ultimately doomed them to not meet preseason expectations. Disappointing as it featured probably the 3rd best senior class in Siena history. (after Fran's Big 3 and the Faison/Osinski/Cantamesa class)

Siena still wanted Nash. The scholarship offer was still in place, along with an invite to see the campus with one of the assistants. They wanted him as the wing opposite Nico. He's already a man too with a college ready body. Camper looks like a typical 18 yo and needs to bulk up.

Has Camper signed his LOI? Are we sure that he is going to arrive in campus?

To follow-up on KS's post, it is our understanding (his/mine) that phone calls were made to the Nash family that were not returned. Don't know when the calls were made, or why they weren't returned, but we have every reason to believe that the staff did make several unsuccessful attempts to reach out to the family. Also don't know what the calls were about. Perhaps to have the discussion that MP suggests. Hoopjunkie says that Siena was still interested in having Nash play here, so perhaps the calls were to try to schedule that on-campus visit when Jimmy would be available. Another relevant point is that the media reports we've seen/heard present one side of a two-sided issue, and that won't change. Siena cannot respond or discuss the matter in any way, which is somewhat unfortunate, but understandable.

The kid took the summer off.. his choice.. he showed his commitment. Except for JO, none of the other kids were local and none took more than a couple weeks off. Nuff said.
In the making of bacon and eggs, the chicken participates, the pig is committed.

St Rose is out for WB. Wants to leave the area. Heard it's down to Indiana of Pa, or Southern Connecticut.

He will be fine and end up with a Master's degree when all is said and done.
