Kinda hard to believe that kid didn't get any all-league accolades - JO too. Siena's talent has always been there to do this. There have just been chemistry and coaching issues holding them back all season. We're finally seeing the team we were supposed to get this season. And we'd better enjoy it while we can because some really dark times are coming. All those guys you see who can't get off the bench? They're our starters next season. All those guys you see on the bench...probably still aren't the starters next year. I think the only guy on that bench besides Clareth who may be fairly sure to start is Roman Penn. After that I think it's up in the air and we may see more frosh start. This, I disagree with. The bench is behind 4 thousand point, 4 year starters. They are just trying to fit in on a team that has 5 "stars". Their turn to shine will come. Richard is the most likely to breakout but I see Smithen filling an Oliver type role (less shooting, more defense) and expect Friday to make the biggest jump going into next year. Shivers is already showing what he can do ... perfect glue guy. Clareth is a guy to build around and in Degnan they'll have an experienced interior player who had a year to work on his game. They'll be competitive next year and the following season will vie for the top of the maac.

Oneindian gets it. NO CHANCE we are even remotely in that game without what Nico did. His performance inspired the other 3 seniors who did step up.
Nico came in with 17:44 left and down 17 points. 8 game minutes later, at 9:50, Nico scored his 14th point of the half to make it a one possession game. His herculean effort got the crowd, and his teammates, to BELIEVE.

Hitchon could be more versatile than both Degnan and Friday. Nash is supposed to be a higher level SG whose bout with cancer killed his recruitment. Penn, Nash, Clareth, Minaya, Hitchon Team would look totally different. Camper is also an energy athlete and Horn is bigger than Richard.

Say what you want, the way that game was going Nico doesn't play we get buried by 30. That was without a doubt one of the gutsiest performances I've seen in quite some time! I don't disagree. But even with his heroics, the Saints probably lose by 20 if the rest of the team doesn't step up their game once he got them back in the game. No one is downplaying what Nico did but make no mistake (to use a Tony-ism) that was a team win last night. There was no game until he stepped on the floor in the second half and lit a fire under his teammates collective asses at the half. See the 1st half if you're wondering what the second would have looked like if he sat. His game was contagious and the reason the others stepped it up.... pretty simple no Nico, no win.

I would think it's EITHER Minaya/Nash, not both. I feel like Hitchon is coming. Adding those two players to Prince, Roman, Jordan and Manny give you plenty of combinations.
C-Sammy/Hitchon/Fisher? PF-Degnan/Prince SF-Frosh/Manny/Huerter SG-Nico/Shivers/Richard PG-Roman/Horn

I'm just saying, we'd be lucky to get one of them.

No offense wasn't it HJ that told us to expect a commitment when Nolan came in? That Patella was coming, we were leading on Anthony lamb etc etc .. I mean God Bless HJ, but when it comes to recruiting he has been wrong more often than times MTS has posted a cliché I do think Jimmy has been working hard of late on it, but it may be case of too little too late. I hope I’m wrong and he signs a few impact players but…… I’ll believe it when I see it
