I think tomorrow's game is now the biggest game of the year not in the tournament.
Win this game and title aspirations can start buzzing around our heads. Lose it, and I'd prepare for either an 0-1 or 1-1 tournament record.
Without the 2 or at worst 3 seed, the odds are stacked against us in this format.
Unless Iona loses to both Manhattan and Monmouth, Siena can't overtake Iona for 3rd without a win tomorrow either. So either way, Siena really needs to win to not be in that 4/5 game.

Obviously you want to win it but if Siena plays Monmouth well for 40 minutes and loses a tight game some positive can come in that. If we don't win we're likely locked into the 4-5 game but I want to see Siena play Monmouth to the wire. If we take another beat down I would say the prospects for the tournament are not good.

HJ, Even with Siena's track record in the MAAC tourney against Iona I'd much rather face them than St. Peter's. Fresh in my mind is the SPU tourney win over Fairfield in Bridgeport and the FU students exit the arena in lightning like fashion. Then they beat Iona the next game to punch their ticket to the dance. It was an absolute masterpiece of defensive strategy I have witnessed in this league. John Dunne is the best coach, for my money hands down, in the league. I equate it to the Siena win over Marist, as the #1 seed, in the tourney when they left the court at halftime with a good size lead, laughing thinking they had already won the game. Iona has dangerous weapons, but their talent level isn't on a par with their past teams IMOP. I just feel their attitude is lackadaisical.

Facing teams who are equal or better at an energy deficit is a recipe for 'see you next year' syndrome. You need Santa Claus to start delivering miracles early to have a legit shot. In my mind, win tomorrow or start preparing mentally for next year.

Offense....not even close.

Yes, 2nd or 3rd would be better; get to play a team that already played in the play in game. 4-5 both teams are basically equal and both fresh. 1-3 way better seeds.
