Going back over the past 25 years, three programs have stood out as the league's best consistently year after year - Iona, Manhattan, and Siena.
Here are the number of championship tourney game appearances by each program in that time span:
Iona 9 Manhattan 9 Siena 8 Niagara 6 Fairfield 5 St. Peters 4 Canisius 3 Rider 2 Loyola 2 Monmouth 1 LaSalle 1 Marist 0 Quinnipiac 0
and here are the number of MAAC tourney basketball championships won over those 25 years:
Iona 6 Manhattan 5 Siena 5 Loyola 2 Niagara 2 St. Peters 2 Canisius 1 Fairfield 1 LaSalle 1 Marist 0 Rider 0 Monmouth 0 Quinnipiac 0

Unfortunately for us ours are ancient history! Current high school sophomores were 9 years old last time Siena was in the NCAA Tournament. While that is sadly true the last time Iona won an NCAA (or NIT) game people who were in elementary school are almost AARP eligible, lol

If that happens and assuming Iona or manhattan are not in the final Siena would be tied for the top spot in both categories.

As a fan I love to look back at the accomplishments of the school. Fantastic to relive. As a fan, one who understands the sport I also know that one must look at the present and future. Years from now we all want to look at more great accomplishments. So as fans we must push to right the ship because if you knw the sport you should have serious misgiving going forward on how the program will accomplish these goals.
