Griffs assistant was complaining to the refs that Patsos was being allowed to constantly go over the top with stalking them during any timeout (which he did at every opportunity)............so James took exception to this and walked closer to half court and was pointing his finger at the assistant and told him to mind his own F'ing business........it then escalated as they went back and forth..........finally James shouted that he was a F'ing A-hole & a F'ing jagoff.........refs had enough with the playground spat and tossed them both...............Witherspoon then got mad at the refs as he thought Patsos was the cause of the situation and not his guy!!!!!!!!!!

Just another in a long line of undisciplined 'acts" just Jimmy being Jimmy- any wonder why his teams dont have any discipline. Keep in mind his first T was "after" Siena made a fast break basket.

He's an embarrassment. Who do you think jimmy will blame for this? Canisius coaches? Refs? the rule book for having technical fouls? Full moon?
Actually he will do what he always does. He will say it was on him and then quickly blame someone else. His contract is worse than ARods. I can't wait until we can get out from under it.

You wonder why the Saints are not a disciplined team and all this occurred right in front of Bishop Hubbard. I wonder if the Siena Administration think this is acceptable behavior for THEIR head coach!!!! The guy should be discipline and let go. Who in their right mind would want to play for this guy.

Hey this should not be a surprise to anyone here. I laid it all out for you prior to the hire. I was told it was all an act and he would be good for the program. The media sold many on this board and why wouldn't them he makes for great reading material and occasional national "recognition".

it is as simple as this.............NO ONE on this board, or heck any true Siena fan EVER envisioned Patsos as being the coach of our program when he was the head guy at Loyola.........not one person would stop and say, geez maybe Patsos would be a good fit for this program to get back to the level that Fran brought us................most knew he was a sideline sideshow, larger than life personality, but that's about it............I have more forgiveness for taking the risk on Mitch, at the very least that decision had more merit, him being one of the main cogs in the success under Fran, continuity of the program and as we have seen in many instances, other programs do the same thing by elevating the top assistant to the lead job anyway..........how long it will take to regroup the program after this latest disaster is truly unknown and truly disappointing.............

Depends when they pull the plug the longer Patsos is at Siena the more damage he'll cause. That's why he needs to go after the season is over. Keeping him for another year and having another disaster will only put the program back further. I hope the administration (i.e. John Murray types) have some balls. Surely they can work something out financially. I believe Siena owes him two years of contract - if it was only one he definitely be gone.

Without knowing the details it's hard to say. I thought he was signed through 2020. Isn't that three more years. If waiting until the current contract is up allows us to afford a better coach than that's the way to go. Patsos isn't even highest paid coach in maac likely because of Mitch.

The schools is in a bit of a bind of their own making. They can hardly afford to eat $300-600K to buy Jimmy out but they can also not afford to let their golden goose starve. I'm not sure who comes up with the contract terms but it seems like Siena always ends up on the short end of the stick. I'm also not sure exactly who makes the hiring calls but there doesn't seem to be accountability there either. I would think the school would have quite a bit of leverage given the few number of D1 coaching positions available at any given time. They should be heavily weighted toward performance bonuses with WAY lower buyouts. A guy who is really confident wouldn't have an issue. Someone who isn't...well that's all you need to know.
Hopefully the school dumps Jimmy at the end of the season. We haven't shown the ability to beat a winning team and next year we only have Khalil as a proven scorer. Yikes.

I almost got the impression based on his actions last game that he is daring them to fire him. There were no terrible calls that would have prompted a relentless assault on the ref's for the entire time he was on the floor. BTW one of the T's came after we had stolen the ball, got a lay-up and had just put a 6-0 run on them. He called a time out after the lay-up, for some inexplicable reason, and spent the entire time out berating the ref's.

The best bet for this fan base is to wait until Fran gets canned at Iowa and to get him to return. Even with that if wins don't come immediately Fran would be on the hot seat. There is no guarantee that the return to the mid major level is going to go smoothly. Ask Paul Hewitt. That said, having Paul return to represent Siena would be good in and of itself. He is a class act.
