Watched Niagara upset Canisius tonight at Niagara with a HUGE student section, and the kids were really loud and into it - makes a big difference. Siena is undefeated in MAAC play at home! How big a difference does the home court make? I looked over the records to date:
Only TWO MAAC teams have winning road MAAC records to date: Monmouth and St. Peters, but St. Peters has only played three times on the road in their first 10 MAAC games, losing at Siena and beating both Rider and Fairfield. So, thinking that way, one might think that teams with a higher pct. of home games in the second half of the season might be expected to do well. Let's hope!
Team.........# home MAAC games vs. away MAAC games in first ten MAAC contests
Monmouth 6 at home, 4 away St. Peters 7 at home, 3 away Siena 4 at home, 6 away Iona 5 at home, 5 away Canisius 4 at home, 6 away Quinnipiac 5 at home, 5 away Rider 5 at home, 5 away Niagara 5 at home, 5 away Fairfield 5 at home, 5 away Marist 4 at home, 6 away Manhattan 6 at home, 4 away
Siena, Canisius, and Marist will have the most home games over the second part of the MAAC season. Go Saints!

Bottom line is the Iona HOME game this Friday needs YOU and YOU and YOU and me and every Siena fan possible. Our team is playing much better and these kids deserve our backing, so please do everything you can to be at the TUC Friday night - the Saints can do this with a home crowd support!

This Friday needs a huge and boistorous turnout by the students as well. Like every student possible.
If you are a student reading this do all you can to get each and every student you know and dont know, on and off campus, to come to Friday nights game.
This includes all you local commuter students as well. I know there are hundreds of you out there. You are Siena students as well. Come on out in support of your school this Friday night.
This should be the perfect storm for getting high student attendance at this game.
Why should it be the perfect storm?
Against long time rival Iona should be enough on its own.
A Friday night game should be enough on its own.
For you seniors who are of age, a Friday night Happy Hour with a free bus ride to and from the game should be enough on its own.
Being that its very early in the semester should be enough on its own.
Being that your team has won 5 out of 6 league games and is very much in the hunt with a senior laiden team to be in first place at seasons end, should be enough on its own.
Being that this could be a momentum changer type of game, that could be the trigger to this team gaining the confidence and swagger it will need to be cutting down the nets in March and you being on the court right next to them on ESPN should be enough on its own.
Being that when properly supported by the students, the alumni, and the local Capital Region community all at the same time, Siena is by far, the most supported team in not only the MAAC, but the region and against most other mid major programs across the country as a whole.....by far, and this on its should be enough reason on its own to come out to Friday nights game.
When put all these reasons together, if we all did our personal best to gather some interest in getting as many friends and family and all students at this Friday nights game, it should be the perfect storm to getting the most fans to a MAAC regular season game in the last 7 or 8 years.
If we do, it might just help the team win, and if we got 8,000 or more "loud" fans there, it just might put notice to the rest of the MAAC that Siena, the team, and the program, and all that it stands for including its large fan base, is on its way back.
That this year's team is back. That the program and playing at home advantage is back.
To get to the Big Dance this year, you will have to come through Siena, it's players, its coaches, its fans, and as a whole, through the best program by far in the MAAC, in order to get to the Big Dance this year. And that will be no small feat to accomplish by any team, including Iona or Monmouth.
And we aren't apologizing for anything.
Let's get "Clueless" and the Monmouth ciach back to their complaining, whiny ways about having to play in Albany again.
Let's shut the Manhattan, Iona, and Monmouth fans up already. Aren't we tired of hearing them be touted as the premier programs in the MAAC these days?
They aren't close to us on our worse days so let's blow them out of the water on our best days. I know this Siena fan is tired of not being on top.
We have the team this year to make this happen. Let's help them get over the top of that wall that's seemed so unattainable to be able to do for the past 7 years.
We can do this and do this right now, but in order to get to the point of cutting down the nets in March in Albany and all the enjoyment and happiness that will surround that moment in time, we must first show the team, and the rest of the MAAC, that we as fans are back.
That we are back in a big way, with big numbers, being loud and boistorous, for a regular season game, on a Friday night against our our old hated rival Iona.
Our perfect storm is here. Let's not blow it. Otherwise it will be a lost opportunity that we may never know what it might have done for this year's team.
Let's do this people. Lets serve notice. Lets make this happen this Friday night.
Get there early. Get there in numbers. Let's get loose. Let's get loud. Lets bring some life back to Downtown Albany like we used to.
Lets Go Saints!

May I also add that unlike many of us on this board, none of these playes or students, and even the coaches, have ever witnessed or experienced beyond possibly, some recruitment videos, what it's like to be an actual Siena student, fan, player, or coach, when the Time's Union Center is at its best.
Many of us know that there's nothing better locally than when the Times Union Center is at its very best with a winning Siena program.
Let's give thsee players the confidence, focus, and swagger they will need in order to win on not only this Friday night but more importantly, to win and be the first Siena team since the France era to cut down the nets in March.
Then they will not only be able to see a recruitment video, but instead become part of a recruitment video as well.

Sienafanallyearlong2 - well said, my man! Remember the UAlbany vs. Siena crowds when the series first started up again? Remember the TUC crowds when our team was winning Back to Back MAAC championships?
You have nailed it - This is our chance. Don't let it slip away. Go Saints!!!!!!!!

FF vs Siena with Edwin's 360 dunk .... down the stretch in that game was the loudest I've ever heard the crowd at the TU.

This is why hosting the tournament is a huge advantage but playing 3 games in 3 days is a neutralizer. Still a big advantage.
