No matter how you feel about Nico playing or not playing, his numbers don't lie. He is in a prolonged slump. Here are his numbers from his last six games:
Date - Overall Shooting including shots from 3 point area
1/12 0/2...................0/1
1/7 2/6.................. 0/3
1/4 2/11................ 0/5
1/2 4/12................ 1/5
12/29 4/12.............. 1/6
12/22 5/15................. 2/7
So, in his last six games, he is shooting 29% overall and 20% from '3'. To play, I would believe, his shot selection must improve and his accuracy must as well. He can't go on last year's reputation.

My question is...what is JP telling him to do...how many of those shots were drives to the basket with a higher %...not many...is JP telling him to just shoot from outside...what does the game plan dictate...I agree that his % is awful but the big question is why...

No offense Sky, do you watch the games? I’m no fan of Jimmy, but in this case, it’s on Nico. His shot selection is horrible, he takes far too many well defended shots, ball movement is bad when he is in, because he shoots it almost every time he touches ball. It was no coincidence last game our ball movement and chemistry was best I’ve seen all year. Nico is shooting 26 % from 3 on the year.

And I should add it’s a shame, Nico is undoubtedly a talented kid. He is obviously not fully recovered from injury. But I can’t help but think Nico was auditioning for a higher league. Until/unless Nico buys into team concept I hope Jimmy keeps his ass nailed to bench. Obviously I hope he does buy in, we are stronger with a motivated engaged Nico than without

Tony..for the most part I agree with you but what were his numbers last year...unfortunately even though I have my season tickets for the first time in 50 years I haven't been able to make the games so I don't see what happens...I am really concerned about his knee and what is causing his attitude change...if he wants to go higher he sure is going about it the wrong way....my question was "why"...we may never know the answer

Needs to get right mentally and physically.

Too streaky from 3 needs improvement on his shot selection. We're better with a Nico that plays within his ability and within the team.

Nico shot the ball over 500 times last year. That is close to the same number of shots as Lavon and JO combined.
It wasn't so much of an issue last year as we were missing the additional shot attempts from Marquis.
With a healthy Marquis there's less shots to go to that fifth player. That is the rub imo, Nico needs those same shot attempts to get those same numbers from last year. It's just not happening for the reason mentioned above compounded with a less than 100% healthy Nico, suspension too, all translating in his lowered results.
Nico either starts to role play nice with his teammates, hits his shots when called upon, or he should be riding the pine.
