You can't continue to swing the ball around the perimeter, trying to force it in, than when you can't get it in take outside contested shots. Poor game plan poor coaching. Like the kids aren't allowed to take the shots when they are open.
Not playing WB and Friday putting EF in, makes one wonder where the guys head is. Right about JO not loosing the game but the young man has to stop playing soft, get a mean streak, maybe its not his personality, all reports great person.
Like to see an announcement for a new AD prior to this weekend.
By all accounts the women's coach seems to have her act together yet she is stymied by recruiting issues also, one wonders.

EF only played 4 min last night. And its not like Friday is setting world on fire. I'm fine with few min a game, my problem was earlier in year when he was playing EF 20 min a game

Tony, you've got to do a better job of warning us as to what's coming, LOL! I hurled my breakfast when reading the following from the TU:
"What do you want me to do, freak out?" Patsos said. "I'm 50 years old. I have a national championship ring (as a Maryland assistant). I've won the MAAC (as Loyola head coach). I have a CBI championship. This team's won 20 games two out of my three years here. I wasn't exactly left a pot of gold at the rainbow, but luckily I was left him (Bisping). So we're building the program here. It's just we're having a really tough year."
At least we know why there's no "I" in team - JP's stockpiling them....
I'm certain he was the key to the National Championship - this just keeps getting more off the wall, day in and day out.....

So DONT force it in, keep shooting 3's?? lol We wont be seeing much more of EF I'm guessing. JO and 'Quis are good kids, and very talented. They just aren't leaders. The leader of the team last year was a guard that came off the bench.

I feel for the fine folks in the Siena community when I read quotes from Patsos like the one above. All I, I, I, and woe is me, I was left with nothing. Just not true, he was left plenty. Plus he's had years to rebuild the roster and hasn't. What a toolbag.

This team plays scared on the road- too many close games lost on road due to poor free throw shooting- Missed put backs or overall bad shooting streaks, defensive lapses- never the same reason but a murphy's law of reasons and always the same results- losses. They need a team shrink more than anything. Not sure why a senior laden team can't play on the road. I don't buy that they are not trying. The bench is paper thin so that doesn't help. Maybe Jimmy needs to cut back on the screaming on the road and be more supportive. Cut out getting in the kids faces. Not all kids respond well to that and its tough enough playing on the road as it is. This team shouldn't be this bad... They need to do something to turn this around and fast- Next year the team will not be as strong so this was the year to do something...

Difference is that Mitch, a nice and humble guy, would have never mentioned that in a presser let alone thrown such a comment out as somehow relevant to last night's loss or the season in general.

We are on pace to go 8-23 entering the tournament. If Nico and anyone else were to leave (in addition to the seniors) and we have a new coach, I'm confident next year's regular season win total will be higher than this season projects to be.
Siena was a great job when Mitch was relieved. It will be an even better job if JP is canned because there will be virtually no expectations.
Memo to the Administration: Do not hire a coach with a national championship ring! :-)

I agree that a good coach could come in and win 10-12 games even with a depleted roster. Have to go with a young and hungry up and coming coach whether that's a high-major assistant or low-major current head coach. Unless it is financially not possible I can't see how Siena brings Jimmy back. That will set the program back. This job is not for him and it will only delay the inevitable.

I am not a basketball coach, but I think I can speak for everyone when I say that this team lacks confidence, athleticism and leadership. I'm not saying its not there, but its not where it needs to be to win at this level. When you walk onto the court you have to know you are better than the guy you match up with. You have to outplay them in every aspect and furthermore you have to outwork them. I don't doubt some of the guys work their butts off, but I don't see it during game play.
Its so frustrating to watch our big man not finish around the rim! When a supposed 6'10" center goes 2 for 14 for the year on open alley-oops there is either a confidence issue or lack of athleticism. Friday and Brandwijk are perfect on the year so what is Jays issue? Wright is missing multiple layups a game due to anticipated contact and Lavon had his issues with layups at Niagra. It seems to be contagious with this squad and that tells me they play scared and not confident.
This team desperately needs a leader by example and not just vocal leaders. Nico could be that, but is not converting and certainly not mentally ready with his swag comments. Come on buddy. We know this team can compete at this level! We watched them have a great season last year and beat some talented teams. We saw them hang tough at Kansas until the 7 minute mark. They had nothing to lose that game! They played loose and to their strengths. This team is mental and the only way to break it is to get over it. I know they will, its just a matter of when. They can still do damage, but lets help them over the hump Saturday.
Lets play aggressive in the right direction and good things will happen! All I know is as an athlete myself you never want to end your senior year like this and they all want it at this point! Lets go Saints.
