No matter what happens in the UVM home game, the swing out west is quickly becoming the critical piece to Siena's season. Canisius, which is playing so much better than anyone expected, has already beaten UAlbany by double digits and now has knocked off St. Bonnies. Niagara - all they did was go "on the road" to Iona and beat them by double digits. If Siena goes to western NY and drops both games ON THE ROAD and falls to 1-3 in MAAC play, the season starts to spiral out of control (and some may say that has already happened).
Siena HAS TO, at the very least, split out west. Winning both ON THE ROAD is a tall order, but losing both would mean the fat lady can start singing. I think the trip out to western NY has to be all about business, the way good teams approach a road trip, not another sightseeing expedition.
