I think this game LL kind of snuck up on Bucknell. They weren't expecting him to run the point and kept throwing big guys at him. LL can certainly run the point in short spurts, but he's not a PG. If he starts running it more, there's going to be more turnovers. And people are saying he had such a great game. He had 10pts, 5 boards, 3 assist and 2 TOs, 1 blk and 1 steal on 43% shooting.
That is basically his career averages. It was a typical Lavon type game.
I'm not sure why everyone is so much more impressed with this game than others. I think the only reason is because this game just happened to be a win that broke a long losing streak.

Makes one wonder why it took so long for the coach to try something different to try to turn the team and season around. mediocracy at its fullest

A couple of things Jimmy did like keeping Nico under control and limiting looks actually helped, having Lavon at the PG worked this game although I think vs the MAAC it isn't gonna fly. Even Bucknell adjusted in the second half by putting a quicker player on him, in the 1st half they had a bigger kid on him which helped to open up the paint/inside game. Don't expect that to work when teams can scheme against it. I didn't like that we had 2 long droughts scoring the ball, that's gonna cost us games. All in all it was a win but I still see issues. Of course a win is always a step in the right direction. Lavon has a sweet mid-range jumper from the foul line that we haven't seen enough of this year. If MAAC teams try to put small guards on him when he runs the point he should be able to eat them up shooting the foul line jumper over them. I'd also like to see more efforts when a smaller guard is on him to clear out and let him post up the little guy. If you've got a 6'7" guy that can run the point in the MAAC then the possibilities are endless. Let's hope he gets comfortable there and starts taking advantage of the mismatches. I would agree with your assessment other than the fact that he is one dimensional due to his inability to go right and possibly finish right handed. Teams know he wants to go left and overplay him. He would be a beast(see Ryan Rossiter) if he could have developed his right hand.
