Just hope the kids don't give up Ah ... I think they did. Scoreboard! Four 1k point scores and this is the $hit we're getting? Pathetic. Team has major issues. Sign of a poorly coached team is regression, Hofstra was better last year and we handle them, this year totally unprepared.

With zero outside shooting ability along with stupid fouls, it getting very ugly. Looking a lot a D-2 team. Shot 14% from 3 point land.

We dont have one player that can catch the ball on the wing during a fast break and make a 3....and thats all college basketball is nowadyas. we dont have guys you can consistently hit a wide open 3-- teams just collapse on us and we still try to force it in -- Siena 0-5 from 3 tonight so far Are we sure we don't have a player who can do that or is SoSo not playing the player(s) for unknown reasons.

I'm a local guy and have been a Saints season ticket holder for a number of years now but I went to Hofstra and played baseball there so I still follow the athletic/basketball program pretty closely, take it for what it's worth. This will be a tough test especially on the road but if Siena plays a complete game they certainly can beat the Pride Thursday night. It's going to look like a ghost town in the Mack on Thursday... no students and three days before Christmas so I don't think the Saints are going to be dealing with too much animosity from the home crowd. The game will be available online and every Hofstra game so far this year has been free so I don't think that will change for this game. Their big man in the middle is Rokas Gustys, he's pretty darn good. He is leading the country in rebounds (13.4 rpg) and can definitely bang around a little and score down low when he wants. It's going to be interesting to see what Jimmy's game plan is going to be guarding him seeing as he is only shooting 20% from the line for the season. You read that right, twenty. This may be a game where you do sacrifice an EF or WB to go in and steal some possessions by putting Gustys on the line. I'd much rather see BB, Long and JO stay out of foul trouble early. They have another big man off bench in Sabety that is OK at best, he only sees 9 minutes a game. Pemberton and Bernardi are very good. Pemberton is a freshman pg averaging just under 15 per game and has already racked up 3 CAA Rookie of the week honors early into the season. He's also coming into this game shooting the three at a 49.1% clip (good for t-16th in the country if he qualified, just shy of 2.5 per game min... hes 26-53) a trend ill talk about below. Bernardi reminds me a little of a Kyle Downey type, scrappy, tough, gritty player. He has actually had a little bit of a slow start from beyond the arc but is still shooting 38.2% from 3pt this season and averaging 13.3 ppg. This brings me to my next point, this team can shoot the 3. Don't be fooled by the poor shooting performance vs. Kentucky last week on ESPN, they are shooting 38.9% from three as a team. This team also was only down 3 at half in that same game vs Kentucky before dying out in the second. They will be able to score (80+ ppg) and they get a lot more off their bench if you include Nico as a starter... Hofstra's bench 24.6 ppg vs the 13.9 ppg Siena's bench has produced this year. Should be a really good game. I think this one comes down to the final couple minutes. Like I said earlier its going to be very telling early if Jimmy came in with a plan to go after Gustys on the offensive end, defensive end, both or neither. Hope this helps a little. So in review... - Siena played far from a complete game... that was ugly - game was free online - Mack was a ghost town - Gustys played good and got his... second point I had can anyone say Jimmy had a plan coming in against him? He didn't foul out, played significant minutes and only 0-1 from the line?? So much for exposing the 20% from the line - next few points, pemberton and bernardi played well, Hofstra lit it up from 3pt, and can score. Siena bench non existent, Hofstra's had 23. Jimmy out coached again and came in with no plan.

I have never made comments on this board. I was always just an observer. I can't hold my silence any longer. I've stuck it out through good and bad.... THIS IS BAD, BAD!!!!!!
