Siena 77, It is very much about "his generation". As the parent of two very successful children only about 10 years older than the team, they shake their heads as much as I do. There are no coaches out there "setting standards and showing the way" for the vast majority of college graduates and never have been. Don't scapegoat the coach. This is squarely on the individuals. Hockey, EVERY generation looks down on the one that follows. My parents' generation said it about mine, and I'm sure yours did too. I also have kids in their 20s and 30s. There are good kids on our team, and there are irresponsible ones. Like in past generations--Marvin "Bad News" Barnes, anyone? I'm getting sick of seeing the "cupcake" generation take things for granted! The Louisville basketball coach had a epic rant about this! youtu.be/Ko42EXjYCyw

[I asked D'Argenio, on the way out of SEFCU, after the UA debacle, if he was going to extend Pastos contract again and all I got was a smirk! Lets all not forget who hired Fatso. John wanted "Fat, Happy and Content" and all he got right was the "FAT" part. Yeah, that's the perfect time to have an intelligent conversation about the issue, isn't it? John probably didn't think that he was being confronted by some disgruntled individual, did he? If I were him, you would have gotten the same non-response from me in that situation. You want to discuss your point with him, call him or stop by the office. Not sure you're going to get much satisfaction because those are issues that aren't and can't be discussed with anyone outside of the parties involved in the ultimate decision. But I'm sure you would at least have the opportunity to express your opinion.

They are told everything right down to the most important matter regarding the programs. These admins are telling them what you want to hear. Give credit to these fans for their passion dedication and being naïve.

Maybe you have time to waste but I don't. I've been a Saints fan since the 50's and these last 6 years have been the most painful of all. So ya,I guess you could say, I'm discouraged as I would think are many others.

RE: who is the most responsible: coach or the players? I think it is a shared responsibility but good coaches win. Beyer was a horrible coach all around and recruited poorly. Still, Hewitt came in and won with mostly the same guys. Lanier was a horrible coach and a decent recruiter of talent. Fran came in and won with a depleted roster and built from there. Generally, in college hoops, if there aren't W's...it is the coach. Are there circumstances? Sure, there always are, but in the end these guys are getting paid $300K+ to put a winning team on the floor and they get to pick their guys. Sorry, but I feel no sympathy other than for the players that have to trudge through practices and games all season. Oh, and I feel for us, the fans, who have to do the same and spend a mint doing it. Jimmy can't say he didn't know where the bar was. He can't say he didn't have a chance or the resources. He lost to an AE coach 3 out of 4 years. Time. To. Go. Agree 100% with Glen and when he goes he needs to take D'Argenio with him. Fatso. That's nice. Very classy! A quality that is often in very short supply on this board.

I would have skipped the beach today if my team was 3-6. Maybe find a court and have a shoot around instead? Or is that to much like actual coaching?

I would have skipped the beach today if my team was 3-6. They went to the beach? I have made 26 business trips to Florida this year and haven't set foot on sand. Just left there again yesterday..... I don't want to be an adult any more...... Well on the positive side maybe this was in response to not being able to put the ball in the ocean from the side of an oceanliner? Hoping for a turnaround....bracing for another hurricane.

They visited the Fort Myer pier which is a very famous historical site - famous because nothing of any historical significance ever happened there, sort of like Jumbo's stint in Baltimore.......I think they actually each shot one ball into the ocean to build up their confidence......there was a picture of the group on the beach on 6 tonight... Kelly O'Donnell quipped they were on a business trip - casual Friday to the extreme!

Oh, I have driven by the Fort Myers Pier..never had time to stop. Well the radio broadcast is up; let's hope it won'g be a repeat of Ryder where Scott tells me the plug got pulled when the signal went off (see the irony there)
