We should be walking a 21 year old senior to class because he apparently is incapable of getting there himself? All because the most important thing is getting the W? Unbelievable. I sure as heck would have somebody keep an eye on those 21 year olds if my livelihood depended on W's. Especially if those 21 year olds were the method of ensuring said W. Yes, that W is the most important thing or at least should be. Don't complain about W & L's then if you dont want the staff and the program going the extra mile to win. I totally agree that at this degree it is ridiculous but we can go as far back as the recruiting process on some of these kids and maybe we wouldn't have this problem.

Siena has a history of babysitting many key players over the years. Keeping them legitimately eligible was always a task allocated to the assistants. Banging on a hotel room door 30 minutes prior to bus departure does not equate to walking a 21 year old senior to class. Since it's habitual, LL should be given an arrival time that is 15 minutes earlier than the rest of them - if he's not there send an assistant to fetch - if still late, bench him but don't whine about it in the media. If a coach can't control his own players how the hell can he hope to control/influence the opponent's players?

Yeah, sure seems like at this point that it would make a ton of sense for Lavon to have an arrival time earlier than everyone else, he's brought it on himself.

Honestly, I think Jimmy calling out Lavon to admit he made a mistake twice in the press conference is the most positive development I have seen from this team all season. As an outsider reading it... It sounds completely condescending and shows a man who doesn't know what else to do. I talk to my 10 year old like that....any adult, especially one that has already apologized would tell him to go eff himself. Apparently Jimmy thinks shaming a 22 year old in front of the media will do the trick. Interesting to watch this program right now... Amazing from a basic human level to observe, forget the sports involved.

Interesting on oh so many levels - Lavon had to have a great game to move himself into the hot seat all primed for a public shaming - if it works, great - had he had a bad game would the problem persist - time will tell - no, wait, Jimbo will tell.........

Half the $hit that becomes public knowledge with this program is mind-boggling and JP putting Lavon on the spot at a presser is just bad, you don't expect that out of someone in a leadership position.

The suspensions and injuries surely haven’t helped- but make no mistake- that story was all about deflection- It’s not Jimmy’s fault..LOL.. Time for excuses is over- it’s his 4th year. Besides the coaching and on court issues- we have recruiting issues. When you have playing time available as Siena will next year- no reason to be whiffing on your primary targets. And it’s not like he was losing these kids to A10 or higher level. Big red flag on losing those kids

Interesting that you lay this at Jimmy's feet rather than the student/athlete that causes these disciplinary measures. If it was my kid, I would be fully supportive of the discipline dished out by the coach/administration. These are life lessons- the kids we are recruiting won't be playing basketball their entire lives . And if we do lose a game because a key player got suspended and couldn't play, then I and hopefully his teammates will lay this at his feet, not the coaches.

Mark Singelais @marksingelais 4h4 hours ago Jimmy Patsos said Siena is having a shooting session tonight. "I haven't had a shooting session in three years here." Saints practicing now.

JP should just keep his mouth shut. Do we know the challenges and opportunities of other programs, NO, their coach's keep it in house, and leave no doubt all D1 programs have these issues. as has been stated, deflection from JP not doing his job. Perhaps new coach as soon as their is no buyout left in the contract.

In no way was I laying this entirely on Jumbo - certainly the kid is at fault - my bitch is airing the dirty laundry and not taking effective corrective actions - but I do believe the coaches owe it to the fan base to make sure the team is ready to play and ready to play includes being there.

You guys are acting like this was a one time incident. This is at least five times Lavon has been late and he was still trying to make up an excuse for it. At this point it is call him out publicly or kick him off the team. Suspensions and benching have done nothing to solve the problem. Making Lavon own up to his mistakes is a good step.
