Saints haven't been playing a lot of zone so far. And that may still be the team's best D. You'd think that breaking it out vs a team shooting 22% from three who lacks guard depth but has great interior play could be an option.
On the short turnaround, man might take too much energy out of them.

Siena is a 4-point favorite. Rider does not appear to be a very good shooting team. This might be the game for some zone defense out of Siena (Rider shooting just 22% from 3). Broncs also do not go deep on their bench. Rider has a lot of experience and are a big team. They are very good on the glass - Siena must rebound the ball!
Key players to watch:
J. Taylor 6'4 Sr. (13.7 PPG, 4.8 RPG) K. Thomas, 6'7 Sr. (13.5, 10 RPG) X. Lundy, 6'7 Sr. (12.3, 4.7) N. Carey, 6'7 Sr. (9.5, 7) S. Jordan, 5'10, Fr. (8.5, 3.5, 4 APG)
Siena has been pretty good at home but bad on the road. Time to turn that around tonight!

This is going to be a battle. Unfortunately, I can see Siena having the type of first half against Rider that they did against Albany. I hope they don't pass the ball around the perimeter and someone takes a shot with the shot-clock running down. Rider has some size and ability to rebound and Siena needs to battle for the missed shots. There is a strong possibility that Bisping and Ogunyemi get into early foul trouble with few points and few rebounds. I think Siena needs to show that want to control the paint and cause Rider to take some early fouls. This game in on the road so some early Rider fouls can set the Saints up for controlling the inside late in a close game avoiding taking all perimeter shots and allowing Rider the rebounds. I hope Siena takes control early and never looks back, but they have not shown that ability yet. A gritty game on the road, I think Siena will pull this out, but it's not going to be easy... Siena 76, Rider 73.

Given that Rider was picked to finish 7th by the MAAC coaches in the pre-season rankings, how can Singelais say, "On paper, Rider is Siena's best chance at a road victory this season?" smh

I'll give him a HUGE benefit of the doubt and assume he meant to date.

Per Mark Singelais @marksingelais
Change in starting lineup for @sienambb tonight: Clareth & Fisher in for Long & Shivers. Hearing those two were late for bus this morning.

What is it with this team, chronic disciplinary issues.
