Not to belabor the point, just curious why people are so upset about last night's 2 point loss to GW where we were outscored by 1 point each half.

Rebounding and big missed FT hurt. In the long run while it was a disappointing loss and missed opportunity it was one game. Compete hard on Friday night and continue to get better. It's a long season. Getting Lavon back will help. Jimmy has to make some adjustments (i.e. WB for Fisher) but this team through two games has shown potential but also that it has a ways to go to be a championship team.

we are a senior laden team and these are games we should win and make the foul shots. Also, Monmouth won these games last year which is the difference between being a champion and a contender

I'm disappointed just because it was a winnable game and I think that ultimately we will be a better team than GW when the dust settles. I'm also just worried that with the large amount of OOC road games that we don't want to be losing winnable ones or risk things getting out of hand. It would have been nice to be 2-1 instead of 1-2 going into that UNC Asheville road game.
I think the team is playing well compared to most of the rest of the conference. It's just, I think they're better than they've been so far. They're not clicking on all cylinders yet.

Senior-led teams need to win these games. There is no excuse and no do-over. CBI isn't going to cut it this year.

Before the season I broke down the OOC like this: Should win - Cornell, UNC-Ashville, Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Bucknell, UAlbany (Danes look better than I thought though) Toss-ups - George Washington, St. Bonaventure, Florida Gulf Coast, Hofstra, Vermont Probable loss - Kansas So if you go 5-1 in the first and third categories and 3-2 in the second that gives you an 8-3 non-league record. The loss last night takes away some margin for error.

We should have won this game, was hoping to be at least 3-1 after first 4 games. I'm not "that upset" and voted accordingly.

Is this thread some kind of an ego trip? There is already a 17 page thread on the G W game full of pissing, moaning and bitching by us armchair coaches.

Tough loss. This game was lost in the first half. Although they only trailed by 1 at half, they had a bagel from BB and Nico. Also how many games do you expect Siena to win when BB scores 5 points?
The hate from some on this board towards the coach and a player is awful. When Lavon returns from the impound lot rotations will change and they will need to get used to sharing the ball different and getting the right shots.

The game was played dead even with the exception of boards, how many games are you going to win getting out rebounded 46 - 29? That's why they lost. Brett's not at 100% and this team is missing Long.

My ego's already so big, only Andre the Giant would trip on it. I assure you it wasn't an effort to extend the "pissing, moaning and bitching". I was just a little baffled by some of the Hot Takes going on during and immediately after the game about how terrible a loss it was. Really just wanted to get a more general gauge of where people stood on the result without wading through those 17 pages. Personally, I was disheartened by the loss (most particularly the glaring lack of rebounding prowess) but felt that they competed throughout the game. Stinks to lose winnable games, but it is what it is. I guess in summation, my current unsolicited advice for fans would be summed up best by that guy in the insurance commercials:

Lack of rebounding and boxing out under the basket bothered me . . . too many plays where there were 3 or 4 yellow jerseys and a GW player came out of nowhere for a put back or rebound . . . in addition scoring didn't seem to be Siena's problem so why did Fisher have more minutes then Willem especially w Lavon out & Brett being subpar . . . Jimmy can't use same game plan for every game this season

We lost it because of foul shooting. I think we were 8 for 14 and they were 18 for 23. We make three more and we win. Close games usually come down to foul shooting and the number of attempts. Like not missing the front end of 1 and 1s.
