Happy Hoops Season Opening Day!
Out of excitement for the season, wanted to put my MAAC regular season ranking predictions out there before any games officially tip off:
1. Monmouth 2. Siena 3. Iona 4. St. Peter's 5. Manhattan 6. Marist 7. Fairfield 8. Rider 9. Canisius 10.Quinnipiac 11.Niagara
No real reinventions of the wheel here, the only team I had climbing a bit is Marist, whose guard play could propel them to a better season than they've grown accustomed to.
It will also be interesting to see what Cluess does with Iona this year. Make no mistake, that team's still got DUDES. Jon Severe, if harnessed appropriately, could be a monster in the MAAC, and Casimir returning is a massive boost to their starting back court. It honestly wouldn't shock me if he somehow gets Iona in to the Top 2 of the league, or falls to 5th-6th in the league. They're very likely the most volatile top tier team.
A reminder that taking rankings too seriously may be hazardous to your health. If you experience rank anger for more than four hours, consult your physician.
Enjoy the season, everyone. Who ya' got and why?

Iona's supposed starters as of now:
1-McGill 2-Cassell 3-Much 4-Svandrlik 5-Washington
Casimir isn't 100% and is coming off the bench for limited mins. Severe is 6th man.

Here's what I got.
1. Siena (15-5) 2. Monmouth (15-5) 3. Iona (13-7) 4. FF (12-8) 5. Rider (11-9) 6. Manhattan (11-9) 7. Quinnipiac (10-10) 8. SPU (9-11) 9. Marist (6-14) 10. Canisius (4-16) 11. Niagara (4-16)
Quinny is your sleeper. SPU your most overrated.

My crystal ball is still in the shop so no idea on season ending injuries, grade issues, "out of no-where" players and just plain duds, so not being smart enough to pick final standings on my own, I'll just root hard for the Saints and enjoy the season. Let the games begin!

Who ya' got and why? Gorvy, what do you see going terribly wrong here? Siena should have enough talent to be better than mid pack.

Gorvy, what do you see going terribly wrong here? Siena should have enough talent to be better than mid pack. Nothing terribly wrong they could be a few games from first even if 5th. A coach like jimmy usually surprises with bad teams and disappoints with good ones-- I factored in an injury or two, suspensions, head scratcher moments, you know, the usual.

I think Siena has best talent in conference this year – I also know from Jimmy’s history he usually drops 2 or 3 games a year he shouldn’t, I expect that will keep us out of 1st . Jimmy has never won the MAAC regular season crown. Hope I’m wrong, and this is the year for Jimmy to prove to me he isn’t so-so Jimbo.
