Fisher keeps getting the free pass to the 3rd big spot. I sure hope JP sees something we don't on the defensive side.
I'd prefer guys who will make defensive plays and rebound playing behind BB and JO.
I could almost understand Fisher over Silas. He couldn't handle the ball and made bad screens. But if you watch, say, the Bryant game from last year and remember how big of an impact on a game a blocked or altered shot and a rebound can have, you wonder.
I can see Fisher as the 3rd big next year...but it seems to me that WB and Friday, on paper, have so many more ways to impact a game. These guys are only going to get 10 mpg. Let's have it impact the outcome.
10 mins of no rebounds, no blocks, no steals, no assists, 3 PFs, and 3pts isn't really something to strive for. You can't easily pull away from teams with that kind of impact.

He was a true freshman "big" last year and they generally are much slower to make an impact (RR being the last exception). He has reportedly lost 15 lbs (has to help with "quicker on D") and seems bright and very coachable. I'd give him at least a half of his soph season before I make much of a judgment on him.

This is simple you'll know in short order if he's any better. I found it hard to watch EF playing over Silas last year. The only thing I can think of was that Silas wasa Sr and on his way out and JP wanted to give EF playing time and get him some game time run because he sees something in him.
Hopefully we will see some kind of Soph jump... if the kid can play. If he plays like he did last season I would go straight to WB and Friday.

I've said before. I see the offensive potential in Fisher..even more than he's shown. I just don't see him as a defender. I hope he gets better. I really do. But people also said Maurice White would learn to pass and shoot. Fisher has value as a shooter and as the rest of his offensive game develops. However, to be other than a role player you need to be great on both sides of the ball. The other 2 bigs have more 2 way potential. Now I know Bisping got tougher as he aged, though he also had certain instincts and abilities at the HS level already. If Fisher gets to be at least a 6+ reb per 30 min guy, his value really starts to rise.

👆Bisping had quicker feet, could jump and was more agile than EF right from the get go.....
I agree EF showed he can hit the occasional wide open 3 but he's got to do a lot more to sell me, a kid his size should be a hand full on the block and I haven't seen it yet,I also haven't seen the ability to rebound or guard anybody in or out of the paint. I don't expect him to be a star but I sure would like to see some progress in those areas, an occasional 3 does not offset all his other short comings.

I don't think Fisher should have a problem becoming a 6 RPG guy if he's playing 30 minutes. There were plenty of times last year where he had his man boxed out perfectly and let someone else swoop in and get the rebound, sometimes even after the ball hit the floor. With age and confidence he will be less scared of losing the guy he is boxing out and more aggressive to go grab the ball. His speed is a bigger concern, especially if they are really considering giving him some time at the 3.
