The MAAC presidents are pretty transparent had Siena won the tournament last year I doubt they would have extended it. Good to have it in Albany for at least the next three seasons (2017, 2018 and 2019). If we recruit well I expect to be in the mix for the tournament title at the TUC the following two years. Jimmy can now tell recruits that for at least the first two seasons of their careers they'll be playing in their conference tournament at home.

The Pru would be good, pretty easy to get to (less than 2 1/2 hrs driving from TUC) you could even take the train. They considered it once but backed out a few years ago.

I think they could do well at the renovated Nassua Coliseum. I would be in favor of some type of alternating site. Especially if that brought the tourney closer to my neck of the woods every few years.
Sent from my SM-G900P using proboards

OneIndian, you may want to consider the following (all times/miles courtesy of Mapquest)in no particular order:
Pru Ctr TU
Quinnipiac 93 mi 1:54 140 mi 2:23 Fairfield 67 mi 1:34 141 mi 2:32 Monmouth 34 mi :41 178 mi 2:57 Rider 48 mi :59 190 mi 3:12 St Peters 11 mi :20 148 mi 2:31 Manhattan 24 mi :44 147 mi 2:23 Iona 32 mi :58 147 mi 2:24 Marist 82 mi 1:38 72 mi 1:26 Siena 151 mi 2:30 Nil
The western schools are on their own either way.
Do you think the Presidents are looking at this?

The 151 is the only one of those that matter -- (if the goal is fans).

MAAC has tried New Jersey several times—and failed miserably. Meadowlands, Sovereign Bank Arena. Bridgeport is good size for MAAC tournament. Has always been 2nd best draw after Albany. And not that they draw well, but MAAC hasn’t had tournament in Bridgeport since Quinny was in conference. With FF, Quinny, Marist, Iona and Manhattan all within 90 min drive
Honestly Albany is best spot, but I wouldn’t be upset with alternating with Bridgeport, it would help keep tournament fresh in Albany

The maac doesn't draw in Albany. All it is another Siena home game or two that pumps up attendance. The sessions that don't involve Siena don't draw flies. I'm not complaining that it stays in Albany, makes it easier to attend, but I feel it should be moved year to year.
