Upon checking perceived home court favoritism toward Siena the foul discrepancy has opponents being called for 40 more fouls than Siena in 12 games. That's an average of 3 1/3 more per game. I would say that feeling is overblown. Thoughts.

A foul is not a foul. We get whistled (at home and road) for game changing fouls. ie Lavon's charge at Iona comes quick to mind. They then look up at the board and we get the next three hand checks 40 feet away. It has to be coach's rep and antics in my opinion. Go Saints

We are much more active inside than the other MAAC teams and as such would be expected to take more foul shots and collect more fouls than most of our opponents.

Sent from my SM-G900P using proboards This is right. According to Kenpom we are #1 in MAAC only FT Rate by a fairly wide margin. For the entire year, we are 2nd to Monmouth in FTs attempted per game, but they are the 18th fastest team in the country whereas we are the 96th...so their games are more up-tempo than ours. For the year, we are 81st in FTA per FGA...to Monmouth's 100. Iona is 275th....they mostly just shoot threes in case you all didn't get the memo.

I'm not saying our guys are perfect, but did anyone else notice the EMPHATIC traveling and carrying by Iona last night that wasn't called?

And I still think Iona players get away with a lot in their pressing/trapping defenses. Not saying that the officials were the difference last night at all; but it was a tough game to officiate. And not sure I've ever seen players react to virtually every foul call against them the way the Iona players do. I guess they're so used to getting away with so much that they can't believe it when hit with a foul. Saints will beat Iona in the tournament if they play each other again.

Happy to see a few offensive foul calls on English. Usually like Billy Baron he gets Golden Boy treatment while using his off arm as a club.

Having watched the previous 2 Iona games that's SOP reaction by the Iona players. Always whining that they didn't foul. As far as English, just look at Robinson, Monmouth, Richards Manhattan same BS with the chicken wing out. Not because they are our team but noticed one thing this year regarding Siena and refs. Our players asked the refs politely professionally about calls, refs seem to acknowledge that politeness.
