Definite shortage of home games now. Should go to a similar tourney as last year and this time host the subregional.

....away game set for Florida Gulf Coast on 12/10/16 in Ft Myers, FL.....FGC to return to Albany for game in 2016-17 If this is correct, it means either that there is no exempt event next year or we will host at least game in an exempt event. Siena's business model is no fewer than 14 home games. With a game at FGCU, we are at 13 home games out of 27. Have to say that there would have been several opponents I would rather have added, particularly where we are starting a series on the road.

I thought Siena was going to start a series with Harvard which was delayed until 16-17.

Siena and Harvard will begin a home-and-home series next year starting in Albany, source told @cbssports. Return game in Cambridge in 16-17.

FCG was in the sweet 16 in 2013. They are not having a good season this year but previously RPIs have been 73, 149 and 160. Maybe Siena is playing another game (guarantee?) in Florida and decided to play two games in the sunshine state?
Still hoping for an exempt event and if it includes home games and high majors on the road fine but I'd rather get the BCS teams on a neutral court but we should not see a return of Rhode Island this year (fortunately we went 2-0)

What I had heard was that Harvard would replace Albany if that series had not been continued. Since it has been, I think Harvard is off the table. furthermore, if it is going to be played with a delay of a year, so it starts in Albany in 2016-17, then there will be no exempt event since we would be at 28 games, with only one more left to be scheduled.

With a team like we'll have next year, Jimmy should be thinking at large resume builder. Senior laden team coming off a winning season.
-5 returning double digit scorers. -MAAC leading rebounder. -Likely MAAC leading assist man. -3 MAAC defensive player of the year candidates. -MAAC's leading shotblocker.
And an athletic bench with good handles.
You potentially have the league leaders and 4+ of the major categories...assists, steals, blocks, and boards.
If you don't aim high in a year like that, when will you ever?

i don't want a bunch of guarantee games, but one would be nice and a couple more interesting mids. It's hard with 20 game macs and Albany.

If you already have a bunch of bad rpi teams and you need to make up for them...maybe the guarantee route is necessary. Even if you don't win, the committee wants to see that you tried.

Too bad we didn't know then what we know now; it could have been better to take that summer trip for basketball (they allow every so often) this coming summer. Couple that with the type of schedule Fram did the year Suena would have rec'd an at large (based in our 9th seed) of Old Spice Classic games, Pitt & Kansas. That's what Monmouth did last summer and this year (scheduling wise).

I'd rather have one or two guaranteed games over two of the lesser opponents we currently have a home & home series with. But, I'd also prefer a higher quality exempt tournament (on a neutral court) over the two guaranteed games (good, better, best). I'll find the positives in each.

Too many times I have seen it is all about the wins. Wins are important but the quality of basketball fans see as well as opponents name recognition is equally important IMO. Hell..this year or next year would have been a great year to try to get St John's.

The committee doesn't care about guarantee games unless you win. I don't know how far in advance the fgc game was scheduled but at one point they were a hot topic in the ncaa. I don't fault jimmy for the ooc schedule I fault the admin for not getting us into the a10 when several sources (granted anon internet sources) said we were pretty much invited.

But the committee cares about RPI. Losing games at Duke or Kansas are often better than winning games vs. the 100th ranked team. If you lose, all it says is you're maybe not a top 10 team. If you schedule and lose to the 100th ranked team ...now it opens you up for more criticism and your SoS isn't as high...which they look at too.

Load up on guarantee games and not only does the rpi suffer with each loss all it does is "prove" to the committee that you are not worthy of a high seed. If what you say is true than every meac and swac team would be in the top 100 because they make their living off the guarantees. The key is to do it like the Mvc--- schedule winnable games against the highest level possible. Take a shot at one guarantee, no problem. Otherwise schedule as many home and home games against quality teams regardless of conference. The rpi will be better in the long run, and fans will get to see better teams at home.
