Interesting to read that the offer was made over the summer, not this past week (which I assumed may have been the case given that some coaches were out recruiting).
Who's the last recruit Siena had commit this early (that actually fulfilled the commitment)? Rob Poole?

We did offer this summer. I would be interested in where the staff was this week looking at kids given we need at least one for 17

It frustrates me that we don't even get mentioned as showing interest when this kid is in our back yard. I get he most likely will go higher but you at least have to show interest.
Upstate PG Joe Girard’s recruitment spikes

Glen Falls, NY point guard Joe Girard made the trip to Syracuse again for the second time in consecutive seasons. The first trip was to see the Syracuse-UNC game last year. The second time was to see Georgetown-Syracuse last week. There are more plans in place to visit more schools, and Girard II recapped some of his movements in the past months.
“I went to Notre Dame in early September and now I’m trying to get to Michigan,” he said. “It might be tough because their season and my season is just starting to get going but that is one that I definitely plan on visiting.”
High Point, Albany and George Washington have all offered up to this point. Michigan, Syracuse, Notre Dame, BYU, Penn State, Colorado, Davidson and Vermont are the schools that he has heard from the most. Stanford just reached out to him and asked for transcripts as well.
Coaches have started to clamor towards the Glenn Falls sharpshooter. They say he’s a winner and that connotation exudes his play, whether that be on the football field or basketball court. He helped bring a state championship to Glen Falls a few weeks prior to helping the basketball team start off 3-0. His 79-yard run in the state championship paid dividends and that was one of the contributing factors to their first ever title. This is what coaches see when they watch Girard III amongst other things. “They like how I shoot the ball and my basketball IQ,” he said. “I am a point guard but I can create my own shot and create space for myself. I like making tough buckets down the stretch to help the team win…overall, they love winning mentality and winning a state football title shows that. They say I’m a winner and winning for me is always the ultimate goal in every sport you play and every game you play.”
Winning a state title in football has only made Girard hungrier to do it in basketball. Last year, with a 20-4 record, they fell three games short of competing for a state championship. This year, he has a lot of confidence in his team and what they can achieve. He wants to be the first school to win both football and basketball titles in the same year in the area. It’s something that he knows they can achieve if they continue with their hot start to the season.
George Washington plans to see him this Friday (12/23) and Notre Dame was just at his game this past Friday. His recruitment will only continue to grow as more people see the sophomore guard who does far more than just play sports.
“I’m a better person off the floor than on the floor,” he said. “That’s what I’ve been hearing a lot lately. I do community service around the area for the little kids and church events.”

UAlbany offers '19 guard August Mahoney from Albany Academy. Saw him the other night, didn't jump out at me. Admittingly I was focused on Moll from Colonie, but the little lefty from AA didn't do alot to impress me.

Jimmybwas watching Girard again I remember emailing the athletic dept the TU article from a few years ago (about two 8th graders starting on the boys & girls varsity teams. Don't know why it took so long to have a look at him. I know many in the board said that the two would go to BCS type schools but it can't hurt to try and recruit them.
