We need one more player--- with current line up unless Nico is in running for RoY we are looking at 5th thru 7th place team -- with an experienced 2 or 3-- we start a line up of Wright ( mystery experienced player) Nico Long and Bisping - bring Imoh off bench at 5, WB Oliver and Wormley off bench- pretty athletic and solid 9 or so players- depending on whom experienced player is would be a team that would be a legitimate contender and good chance for a top 4 finish

If it comes back up to JP1 levels, Siena is top 5. If not, Siena is not going to contend. That's it. I think this team has more speed, athleticism, length and energy now to just 'go and get the ball.' Hymes had speed that was sometimes disruptive but he couldn't grab a board to save his life and was too short to be a real factor on D. Poole was tough but last year hobbled and never had great foot speed to begin with. JO wasn't a good rebounder for a big. (and WB may be able to help alleviate the loss of his shotblocking while also being a better ballhawk) White couldn't be played because he put the team at risk on offense. You add Bisping and Silas who rebound better. WB maybe gets a soph jump. And then 2+ quick athletes who are all 6-2+ and not 5-8. The team, on paper, can regain its rebounding prowess of JP1, press with more speed and length, while also regaining Bisping's drawn charges and Silas' blocked shots. I think the defensive intangibles are in a much better position now as long as Bisping and Silas are truly healthy. The team will go and get the ball more effectively and that leads to more ways to win. It brings back Siena's identity of JP1 as a team that hangs around and has a chance to win late.

Reality as I see it....... No JO Thin at the 5 (Silas foul prone) Two bigs coming off of serious injuries No true wing Foul prone Lavon A bunch of unknown frosh (with exception of Nico who might have the ability to contribute from the start) Can we score the ball Fouls
Excuse me for not being overly optimistic

No JO Thin at the 5 Silas fouling Two bigs coming off of serious injuries No true wing Foul prone Lavon A bunch of unknown frosh (with exception of Nico who might contribute from the start) Excuse me for not being overly optimistic Bisping and Silas healthy is HUGE. We know that. #1 thing and that can't be downplayed. JO is a good player and I'd rather have him than not but the fact is that he was the worst rebounder FOR HIS POSITION on the team next to maybe Hymes. And the minute Bisping steps back onto the floor healthy, JO's offense is replaced...while the rebounding and OVERALL defense is also still potentially upgraded. Fisher looks like a decent rebounder, he can come in grab a few boards and score a few points while he learns the ropes. Team speed and length helps a lot of things though even if they're unknown frosh. We gain some things in some areas and lose in others. I think what this team gains in ball handling, athleticism, and defensive ability will go a long way towards a better season than last. 3 point shooting and offensive mistakes may be issues at times but Patsos has shown in the past that he can still win without those things. This team has tons of questions but I see the paths to it being a successful driving, attacking, rebounding, defensive type team. They are there.

I am somewhere between the two of you..We have a lot of question marks for sure. I feel fairly confident both Brett and Imoh will come back 100% from injury ..I also think Lavon and Wright will work hard this off season - I think we are not that far off maybe one player from being a pretty darn good team, but like oneIndian I’m not going to hold my breath Jimmy is going to have to show me. I do think adding Nico Kenny Fisher this year is a step in right direction- they are kind of payers we need to press and play up-tempo. Smithen is another brick in the wall if we land him—and still one ship out there, I’m hopefully we can land an impact transfer that can play immediately if Jimmy can land that transfer player for the first time in a long time I'll feel we are headed in right direction

www.sienasaints.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/041715aaa.html"We're super excited to have Nico," Siena coach Jimmy Patsos said. "I expect him to come in and start right away for us. He's very athletic and has a great will to win. He comes from an outstanding program."
"Kinnon has a lot of potential," Patsos said. "He will have to get accustomed to the speed of the game at this level, but he's a high-character, high-quality kid. He's more well-rounded than you think."
I expect Nico to start from day 1. Jimmy pretty much has laid that out and unless Nico doesn't work for it (no reason to believe he won't) then he will be the starter at SG. Wright, Nico, Long, Bisping, Silas is your likely starting five. Oliver could also start instead of Silas if Siena goes small. The other question is do we add anyone else? (that can play this upcoming season - Smithen would have to sit out next year)

Mike Maker will have something to say about that IS, and he is a capable guy. I agree GB. My take on Maker was that he was evaluating what he had with his team. I personally believe Lewis and Hart didn't get along well. Yankee can confirm my feelings. We'll have to see how well he recruits. Any success he has and the bandwagon jumpers will return in the numbers their women's team draws.
