Mike Maker will have something to say about that IS, and he is a capable guy. That maybe true but it'll never ever change my mind. Siena should never ever lose to some teams - UAlbany being another. I realize that we will lose to them, I'm just saying we should never ever lose to them.

Kadeem Smithen @ksmithen_ · 5h 5 hours ago
Next stop... Albany ✈
Hopefully Kadeem has a good visit and commits before he leaves campus.
Also good news to get Nico and Kinnon officially on board.
Kadeem plus another wing player who can play in 15-16 (along with an addition to the coaching staff) and I'll be very happy!
Get it done, Jimmy!!

How can comments be made when we haven't seen these kids play a second of college ball. What is this supposed to mean? 60% of our guards are going to be frosh. Of course the eggs are in that basket. What exactly was said that makes these guys out as so great? They will contribute. They HAVE to. They are all we have.

They are a step in right direction athletically that much is undeniable how they play time will tell, Both look to be good bets, especially Nico- but hey until they get here you never know. Kenny will only be needed for 10 min or so a game anything more than that will be gravy. Also agree with KK-- the frosh have to contribute

Even if he really believes that, I wish he wouldn't say it publicly. We obviously need players and have the scholarships available, which is a good thing. But this throws off the balance of classes. 4 incoming for sure and if we get a frosh transfer who has to sit puts that class at 5. Certainly not worrying about that now, but something to think about.

I'm curious to see just how good he is defensively. He's got the speed to make things happen but does he have the instincts and positioning? I'm not sure how good of a ballhawk he is...but he seems like he blocks a fair amount of shots for his position due to his closeout speed. You see that a lot in the videos. He had 57 stls & 32 blks in the 38 games of stats we can see between his Maxpreps junior year and AAU. Stats usually fall some from HS so I hope it's more due to the style of defense Calvert Hall played. It didn't seem like they pressured the ball too much. With starters minutes, he seems conservatively like a 35+ steal, 15 block a year type guy to me...with maybe some steals upside in a more pressing system with Patsos on his back to play harder. On offense, I'd venture to say as a frosh he's a 40% FG, 32% 3 pt shooter type...with around a 1 to 1 assist ratio or maybe slightly negative...and he approaches 4 rpg. He seems to go and get boards. Based on the fact that he forces shots, is a frosh, and doesn't seem to have an overly consistent jumper..I'd say that's about the type of player he is from all the stats and video I've seen. The big keys will be taking care of the ball, getting to the FT line, and defending. Hopefully, the jumper falls in line at some point but I'm not sure the consistency is gonna be quite there yet. I think the veterans like Oliver, WB, and Bisping are gonna have to help out on the 3 pt shooting. Frosh aren't usually consistent shooters. The key is DEFENSE and get to the FT line. That's the game plan.

Nico was BCL defensive player of year as junior, both Nico and Kenny come in with reputations as very good defensive players.Lord knows we need the help our guards and wings really struggled keeping players in front of them

I'm not sure if he's a great finisher off the bounce. In the film I've seen he always seems to miss or get blocked. Not sure if he has that 'Quis craftiness about him. He seems a little all or nothing at the rim. Don't think he's a shooter but it sounds like that's improving. If he defends well and runs the team ok for 5-10 mpg, he'll be what we need and be a net positive. Have to see how his offense develops. But in his defense, it seems like it's some of his worst games that are available online...so maybe he's further along than it seems. He did score over 500 points this year after all. There must be something there.

People I know and trust in the DMV area tell me Kenny and Nico are two of the better defensive guards in area, which is very promising. Agree on Kenny his offense in improving and anything he brings us there is a bonus. Not expecting unreal stats from Nico-- but I am hoping he is a impact player. Expecting very little from LaRose this year, I think he will take year to adjust and we will see him step into Oliver's role when Ryan graduates. And I think biggest beneficiary of JO leaving is Evan Fisher
Still have hope we can land an experienced 2 or 3 that will do a few things, lessen our reliance on freshmen move Lavon to 4 and Brett to 5. Don't like Silas starting, he has never been able to stay on floor more than 16 min a game and has almost zero offense, love Imoh coming off the bench swatting shots and grabbing some boards and giving us a lift defensively

I think the biggest beneficiary of JO leaving might be WB. He's still the most athletic guy we got. If healthy and making an impact, I think Silas needs to play a lot this year...whether off the bench or starting. If you were to pick your best defensive 5, who would it be? Wright, Wormley, Clareth, Bisping, Silas? WB? Long? Sometimes you just want to throw your best defensive team out there and let em run. Bisping brings leadership and some boards, some blocks, some steals, and charges. WB brings athletic energy. Long brings toughness. But in every best defensive lineup, Silas is there anchoring the post. I don't think Siena is good enough to sit a guy too much who can potentially block 3 shots and grab 8.3 boards a game. Those were Silas' per 30 minute stats his last year.
