Maybe he was aware of the sought after ( at least here) "staff shakeup" and decided enough is enough? Can this season get any worse? Do you mean we're actually supposed to consider that certain fans or boosters could have a negative impact on a program?

Just perusing some photos from the meet and greet. This group was hanging together in the back. Could be a factor that his buddies are now gone? JO is best friends with Marquis, Mo and was with White. I don't think we will really ever know what happened but may be enlightened by his choice when he makes a decision to land at his next stop. I can certainly understand wanting to get away from the place where he lost his mom and get a fresh start and after even a pitiful season in which he was an most improved player on this team he had a window of opportunity to make a move. I have to say in retrospect, that perhaps that departure to the locker room his frosh year at Monmouth and the fact that he left after every game not with the team but quietly with his family was another sign of dissent. JO is a great kid and a good student. I am proud of him for having the courage to recognize opportunity and to reach for it. I will miss him and wish him all the best.

I will add- this is very odd ! Especially when the kid improved soo much in the last year-and was going to start! Makes you wonder .. If anyone is whispering shit advice in this kids ear! For their own selfish reasons! See what the timeframe is before he announces his new home, than perhaps we can buy a conspiracy theory. Sure like you others have thought of it. Look how many transfers know where they are going as soon as they announce they are leaving.

My point had nothing to do with the board or posts. But if Jimmy is going to change the staff, I would expect that might be the last straw for a kid who may have had some concerns

I heard this was a possibility this past weekend and hoped it wouldn't turn out this way. Best of luck to JO, he was a solid player and always seemed like a quite and thoughtful guy. I wish him the best.

They helped bring us guys like Beyer, Lanier and Mitch... along with Patsos. They enjoy being closet GMs

These suggestions on here are all reaches. Siena doesn't go after transfers and is tough considering most transfer aren't Hugh level students and high level player combinations. Just get ready to ride out the rest of patsos contract because nothing is going to change. I bet behind closed doors patsos is saying the same exact thing about rectuitng at the "new" loyola as with siena. "Well guys I can't go after the guys that I want." What a bunch of bs. How do you sign 2 kids that didn't visit the campsi.
Doubt he fills all of the ships and once again uses that to look forward to the next season. He's bacially a deadman at building th program or if he proves us wrong it would mean a contract extension if someone like Brett and Marquis could carry the team next year.

Hate to see any local kid transfer. It would make more sense to me if a recruit was from say Texas and was homesick (like Collin Weaver). Several sentences about attending Siena to be close to him Mom. I could also see how some players may not like Jimmy's style (eve if he means well). I'm more concerned with: "Ogunyemi talked last month about the pressure that sometimes goes with playing in front of his hometown fans." Not sure if this is his own personal expectations to play well for us fans or the pressure we fans (or even Jimmy's pressure to play well in front of home crowd) maybe put on him. I'd hate to be part of the cause that made him decide to transfer (and feel bad if that's part of it). JO, we wish you well and hope you continue to get better and have an amazing two years at your next college.

They helped bring us guys like Beyer, Lanier and Mitch... along with Patsos. They enjoy being closet GMs Lanier wasn't recommended by the boosters- all Father Toll's decision. The boosters were actually the one's who did the extensive search when we ended up with Fran, who was their top recommendation. As for Mitch, that was a full press endorsement of the existing player's who came to regret it by year end and who was heavily supported by many local fans. I believe that was Darg's decision So if you want to pontificate, at least get your facts right!

Skip, Do you know if D'Arg solely selected Jimmy or did he have assistance?
