Nico sounds like a good player and the video looks good, but wondering - are we are getting a little too excited too early? I remember all the excitement over Rich Audu (and others) based on his video and Mitch's statements and wonder about the offers Nico had for 2016; all from schools below our level (Fairfield, UMBC and College of Charleston). Don't want to be a wet blanket but let's let the kid develop in his own time and not look at him as something he may not be (yet). I don't remember any excitement about audu except from maybe mts. I do however remember ripping on Mitch because he recruited an unknown , unranked gamble out of Canada. Mitch was essentially chased out of NY nj Philly. Thus oliver bisping beard audu. And when he finally dipped back into NY.... Hopper. This isn't remotely comparable I know I hype any and everybody don't I? LOL

Nico Clareth vs. Kenny Wormley Watched the full game. Kenny didn't look good at all but it was one of his worst games of the year. 4 pts on what seems like 12-15 or so shots. Couple of bad turnovers. Just plain dropped the ball all alone on a break away layup. wiki.allmetsports.com/all-met/players/prince-georges/riverdale-baptist/boys-basketball/672943/Highlight for me was when he picked Clareth's pocket midspin move ala Brookins. He's good on D and certainly athletic. Gets where he wants but just can't finish. A little weebly with the ball some times but he has a handle...just forced it again in this one. Nico looked real good. He seems to just have a much better handle then Wormley. There's a comfort level when he has the ball. Almost looks like Wright with it. He has a great motor and goes and gets loose balls and boards. He can get his shot off whenever he wants and looks like a pretty good passer too. His misses are generally good misses unlike Wormley in this one. Didn't seem like his shot was particularly on but he still made a big impact all around and put up a lot of points. I think he can even be a PG. The main question for me will be the consistency of his jumper. If that's on, he and Wright could go far together. He is just a presence in kind of the same way Chavaughn Lewis is a presence...only with a better handle.

Yes Nico is a steal...the difference with him and guys his size coming out of bmore is that he has always been a guard. He has been handling the ball all of his life and played for teams that put him on the perimeter from day one. He does not have to learn to be a guard after being used as a forward like most kids his size and strength coming out of bmore.... I can't wait till he gets on campus. He is a gym rat that will take full use of the facilities and equipment Siena has to offer from day one.

Agreed- I’m excited about Nico. And agree with KK, that game was probably Kenny Wormley worst game of the year, Kenny should be able to come in and give us 10 min a game- love the size and athleticism of Nico and Kenny – we are really going to be able to pressure the ball more . Nico is a flat out prime time player, if the kid has his head screwed on right, ( and no reason to believe he doesn't) it’s going to be hard to keep Nico out of starting lineup, he possesses a skill set we currently don’t have on roster

I have not seen much of Wormley but I was told he is better than Wright was as a rising Jr. Wright got a lot better as a senior and continues to improve as a DI pg. Wormley has elite size for a MM pg though.

He looks like he can defend. That's important. However, I don't see the same magic in his game. I could tell Wright was really good in HS film. Jury still out for me here.

Wright grew from Jr to senior year and he played on the B team. I know for a fact he surprised Patsos...he was recruited to play behind RJ not start and play 40 mins per game.. A pleasant surprise no doubt. Wright was not a scorer in HS and still though he has improved from last year he did not score much as a HS Jr and that is the player they compared Wormley to when he was a Jr. No doubt Wright is hands down better now...I am just saying no one knew Wright was this good back then....but they think Wormley was and is now

If I remember correctly Wright played with some HM guys... Wright's team won state championships. Wormley's team has a good tradition but I did not follow. But both were rated on their AAU teams....both deciding to play on the B team in a strong org to get max PT and then committed before the most important live period.

The more I watch Nico Clareth play the more excited I become.A player like Nico opens up the game for every one around him the way he can get by an opponent and into the lane. There is a lot of" promise" for the Saints next year;If there is another scholarship to give PLEASE make it count.GO SAINTS!!
