With the Welcome Nico thread having turned into a second thread on 2015 Recruiting, I am starting a new thread to link to the Baltimore Sun article in which Nico discusses his commitment. I am very impressed with the newest member of the Siena family.
touch.baltimoresun.com/#section/855/article/p2p-82739692/
Hope the link works.

So happy we got Nico. He is a steal for us Ppc this is not the case. This is the kind of guard/recruiting we're use to. He is a steal for Loyola

IMOP Nico is a steal for the MAAC. Please understand that I know his entire recruiting story. Nico can play on any level. Its about the fit for him and Patsos and staff convinced him that a bird in hand is better than 2 in the bush.

I think Nico could be the missing ingredient we need to get to the top of the league. I think we are pretty well covered at the other positions. The staff did a great job recruiting him. Of course we know college recruiting is dirty so I will be really happy come April 15th when Nico can officially sign his LOI. Hope he can get up to a game before the season is over and see the TUC!

He will visit before he signs so the Saint family can give him a proper tour. It will be an official visit. FYI per his request Nico was able to talk to players on the team directly since he did not visit to get an idea what the campus experience was like among other things. It was also an advantage having guys from the DMV already on the team that could share their experiences with him

I'm sure Marquis and Lavon were especially helpful for Nico to talk with! Perhaps when he visits we'll have offer recruits (2015 and 2016) come in as well.

Patsos has very close personal ties with most of the HS coaches and AAU programs in the DMV. It would be silly to not continue to use this advantage along with the advantages of being the coach of the Crown Jewel

Nico sounds like a good player and the video looks good, but wondering - are we are getting a little too excited too early? I remember all the excitement over Rich Audu (and others) based on his video and Mitch's statements and wonder about the offers Nico had for 2016; all from schools below our level (Fairfield, UMBC and College of Charleston). Don't want to be a wet blanket but let's let the kid develop in his own time and not look at him as something he may not be (yet).

Lest we forget that they are STUDENT athletes, and need to not only adjust to the D-1 college game and competition (that as we know may be older and more mature ) but they need to adjust to the academic changes that come while earning a college degree. Of course, they have many advantages over non-athletic, regular people on campus (known to the kids as NARPs) with available tutoring, schedule assistance and monitoring to stay on top of things. Finally, all the highlights and video clip in the world can't tell you how much athletic heart and drive you are really getting IMHO.

I do however remember ripping on Mitch because he recruited an unknown , unranked gamble out of Canada. Mitch was essentially chased out of NY nj Philly. Thus oliver bisping beard audu. And when he finally dipped back into NY.... Hopper. This isn't remotely comparable
