One way most experts measure how good a coach is, is to look at his former players and staff members in the profession. Will Brown Jon Iati- former player, former C.Conn DOBO, current UAlbany assistant Josh Pelletier- former LIU and Duquesne DOBO, current UAlbany asst Jerrad Knotts- former player, current staffer Blake Metcalf- former player, former St Rose asst, current staffer Brent Wilson- former player, former D1 asst, current JUCO head coach Kenny Dagostino- former DOBO, former HVCC head coach, current NAIA head coach Brian Barnes- former player and DOBO, current D3 head coach Lucius Jordan- former player, current Siena asst I may have missed someone
Jimmy Patsos G.G.Smith- former asst, current Loyola head coach Greg Manning- former player, Loyola and Siena asst
I know most of you hate Will Brown, but he's widely respected in the coaching profession. Even Grazulis was raving about Brown and his staff yesterday.

Half of those guys are former players just added to his staff a year or two after graduating. That's a reach.

Well, Manning played for Jimmy so......and if he and Lou are smart, they won't let themselves be identified by the tree trunk. Just my humble opinion.

Hell, I listed them and MTS still tried to claim they don't, lol. Jordan is still on good terms with Will. And Matt Brady. Lucius will have a great future in coaching.

That proves they "get jobs?" C'mon..... I can't believe Jimmy hasn't had one DOBO get another basketball job in thr 9 years he was there! lol

Yeah, 4 guys on his payroll currently. 3 of those 4 came from other programs, as I clearly stated. Iati from Central Conn, Pelletier from Duquesne, and Metcalf from St Rose. So yes, they all "get jobs".

So because they were DOBO's somewhere else and are now taken back in by Brown that proves his "coaching tree success?" ps--that might be the youngest staff in D-1!!

You were in love with Jim Ferry when he coached LIU. He hired Pelletier at LIU and Duquesne. Brian Beaury hired Metcalf. Howie Dickenman, an 18 year D1 head coach, hired Iati. So don't pretend they only got hired by Brown. You look more foolish with each reach.

You saying only 2 guys in Jimmys history have gotten any kind of job in basketball, is much more foolish.

So you keep trying to deny the clear facts I presented.

You DON'T KNOW, but you feel a need to bring up a "coaching tree" like Brown is Coach K or something. You should have squashed that thought, when half of your examples were gophers (aka: "DOBO"), or guys that Brown hired to be "staffers." YOU bought up the Brown/Patsos comparison of coaching connections. You're a UA guy so you know all of his DOBO's (congrats on that), but since you have no clue who fals intot hat category for Patsos, you shouldn't really do the comparison until you do your homework.

Then you're willing to go on record that Jimmy only has two "branches" on his coaching tree like you claimed in your original post? Since you DO your homework, you should have no problem standing behind that. Since "genius" almost made you cry, I'll just call you wizard. Let's see if you have the guts to back up your "knowledge" on this subject.

I didn't "claim" the 8 for Brown were all he had and I didn't "claim" Patsos' 2 were all he had. You are the only one trying to dispute it, without any data and Brown's many other haters and Jimmy's fans are strangely silent. Maybe they know my premise is correct?
