Interesting item from this article: "Siena has a very weak bench. Though they are practically returning their entire bench from 2013-14, that's not exactly a good thing. The Saints bench was widely regarded as the worst bench in the MAAC last season, and with only three unranked incoming freshmen, is unlikely to change much in 2014." From our myopic view, we (well, most of us) see only the strengths and possibilities of our players and our recruits and see most of them as "all MAAC" caliber without significant limitations. From this "outsiders" view, our bench and recruits are highly questionable. Let's hope our rose colored glasses are accurate and they are out of touch. Go Saints!

Go Saints! you really have to take the criticism about our bench for what it is. This publication has limited knowledge about mid-major teams. They're listing Lavon as our center? Any explanation doesn't give much credence to things like that. No mention to the youth of the team or something about developing big men? I appreciate the 1st place pick but I think they have very limited knowledge to say after our first six players there is no depth or ability on the bench.

I'd rather be picked 3rd or 4th. Toooooo much pressure with that "preseason #1" crap around a young teams neck.

Iona will almost certainly be picked 1st in that one. But we will be picked second. Why run from it? Siena brings everyone back and the other contenders (Iona, Manhattan, Quinnipiac) all lost major pieces. SPU didn't lose anyone of significance but they finished behind us last year. Siena is going to be picked very high - let's embrace the expectations. In the long run the preseason publications don't matter but it's always nice to see your team picked high. Remember last year we were picked 11th by many and now many are picking us first. That's what a good coach and staff can do for a program in the span of 365 days!

Too late for “no expectations” once a freshmen dominated team won the CBI—that was out the window. Preseason predictions are nice but don’t mean a lot. Can’t wait for season, this team has potential to be very good but we are certainly not without question marks

The guy who made these picks probably never saw Siena play and couldn't tell you where it is. These polls mean nothing as well as the coaches poll. All just opinions. Top 5 all have a shot this year.

I would say out of touch in this case. They dont even know what our starting lineup was all of last season. And the positions and roles are wrong. They looked at the stats and HS rankings to come up with this. Prob never saw the Saints play

This is true and really something to be proud of. From 8 wins to 20 will change a conversation every time. We were expected to be at the bottom. One year later we are being picked at the top.
