Haven't really payed much attention to this since last year Siena was ranked was PW's first year ( under Fran Siena was fixture in top 70) any way lets see how good you guys are- how many MAAC teams get ranked and where does Siena end up--- I'll guess 3 maybe 4 MAAC teams get ranked and Siena will come in somewhere between 60-90 ( depending on where he picks us in MAAC) if I remember correctly Joel has some off the wall picks www.collegesportsmadness.com/mens-basketball/top-144-previews

I would guess 2 or 3 in the top 144. I think most people outside the MAAC will be a little conservative with their early season ratings of our "young" team. I think we'll come in 95-115 and probably closer to the 115. (I would be thrilled with that!)

I'll guess Siena, Manhattan, and Iona all make the top 144. St. Peter's I expect to be very good but they had a losing record last year and don't have the same name recognition of Siena, Manhattan or Iona. Quinny is borderline but they'll look at what they lost - Azotam and both Shannons.
The MAAC has a chance to have 5 teams in the final 144 of the RPI at the end of the season (how do they come up with a number like 144?)
My predictions: Manhattan comes in at 130, Siena 83 and Iona at 78 (Gals will be overrated)
Though we were only 20-18...these national write-ups tend to look at how you finished and who's coming back. We have everyone back and finished winning nine of the last 11 games and won a national postseason tournament. After a 3-8 start Siena played .630 ball (17-10) from late December until early April.

Three teams that Siena beat last season (two of them in the postseason) are already on the board in Fordham, Stony Brook, and Fresno State. They've all lost some people. Since Siena returns just about everyone, it's fair to assume Siena will make an appearance on this list - presumably somewhere in the top 100.

Big leap of faith putting Fordham on this list, and after losing Frazier to boot. The writer must be a graduate or something.

www.collegesportsmadness.com/article/9371Siena comes in at 121 (2nd in the MAAC). One person's opinion but I thought we'd be higher (top 100). Also surprised only two MAAC teams are in the top 144. I'm guessing Iona will be the top choice probably between 85-100. Also Welser seems to think the 8-24 season was Patsos' first year. A little research please! If you wonder where Siena was picked in the top 144 in previous years (goes back to 2004): 2006-07: 129 (2nd in MAAC) 2007-08: 86 (1st in MAAC) 2008-09: 45 (1st in MAAC) 2009-10: 34 (1st in MAAC) 2010-11: 136 (3rd in MAAC) 2014-15: 121 (2nd in MAAC)Hopefully we can begin the steady climb like we did under Fran. Just get better and better every year!

Not that surprising-- funny he mentioned most of the question marks I had in my earlier post. We will be very competitive this year,, and for a sure A tough out with tournament on our home floor. But unless we dominate an extremely weak schedule, going to be almost impossible to get inside top 100 in RPI
Ultimately Joel hit the nail on the head, we have to shoot better and score more to compete for MAAC title
