Think he will be a good fit for Marist ... Should strengthen the MAAC ... Rising tide lifts all ships

“I’m coming into a situation where they haven’t been to the NCAA tournament in 27 years,” Maker said. “They haven’t played for MAAC championship, so that kind of challenge actually intrigues me.” It may be another 27 yrs before the Fred Sanford's make it again. Fran's team knocked the out of the MAAC tournament when Marist was the #1 seed when Siena wasn't picked to beat them.

No pity needed:). We had the great years under Smits. I remember those days as a kid. They are coming again eventually. If you guys stay in the MAAC, might be a mistake competitively.

Yankee I acknowledge that the foxes are not 27 years removed from basketball successes but you must have been hurting the sauce pretty hard if you think Siena needs to move up to the A-10 rather than face the juggernaut that will be Marist.

Sent from my SPH-L710 using proboards Marist is a sleeping Giant in this conference. The college focus has been on improving the academic stature and the overall campus experience. And both of those goals are coming along tremendously. Once Marist gets bored and decides, "damn, what do we do now"? and a lightbulb moment comes to Dr. Murray that says this: "holy crap, we can now dominate everything if I just decided to actually care about the mens basketball program", that moment will come. It has been a long slumber, but if Maker is the right guy, looks like the smelling salts are being applicated and the domination will soon commence.

I think the term "comatose" better describes the nap the foxes are taking. You guys live, I mean sleep, in Rip Van Winkle land. As to the giant reference - Siena = David; Marist = Goliath - it all boils down to which Saint slings the shot ... LOL!

Marist does have a lot of potential and I hope Maker is the right guy for the foxes, the long suffering Marist fans deserve a “break” ..Unfortunately for Marist Siena is in same conference, due to Siena’s fan base, facilities media coverage etc no other program in MAAC comes close to the resources Siena—not even close.
