In addition to Dwayne Daniel and Bashir Ahmed not making the grade- Also had Shackquiel Scott transfer( or run off) ..I'm sure Cluless and Grasso will continue to turn over rocks in search of talent- In years past Iona has been able to plug holes with transfers that became eligible immediately via the hardship rule - as noted that is no longer possible. Was looking at iona's chart on verbal commit and they had the following kids leave early or not show up that should have been on team last year
Ben Mockford (RS) (TR) Jayon James (JUCO) (TR) DeSean Anderson (JUCO) (LT) Aleksander Kesic (TR Shawn Jackson (JUCO) (TR) Mike McFadden (RS) (TR) Chris Pelcher (RS) (TR Norvel Pelle (PRO) Shackquiel Scott (ERS
How the hell is Iona not in trouble with NCAA APR? I realize some of those kids went to others schools and got their degree, but several did not . I know it takes time for this to catch up with a school ( what do they give you 6 years to graduate) but at some time soon this has to become an issue for Iona

Now from a recruiting standpoint it is hard to sell, but I have to assume some of those kids were more interested in the basketball side of things and not necessarily the degree and the same May be true for their recruiting pool.

You basically know what you are getting with Iona. They dont try to hide it No question they don’t hide it- but that style of recruiting is catching up with them- you cannot sustain that level of transfers and not run afoul of the NCAA APR- several of those Iona players left the team in bad academic standing- or just dropped out altogether . We are only in May so we don’t know who else might be flunking out at Iona—you just never know remember a few years ago when the whacked Iona fans told us how Pelle would dominate the MAAC- or how they are putting all their eggs in the basket of Amayo- a 23 year old man who has been at what 3 or 4 schools and has played a total of 3 NCAA games- hell he didn’t even start on his prep team- Amayo signed with that basketball powerhouse Towson—then transferred to another dump in Marshall and couldn’t play there.. so now here is at iona-- yeah he is an impressive athlete doesn’t mean he can play—and as a NIA school alumni—watch out amazing he is still in college

Definitely a mess and the change in the rules will hurt them
