With this signing, it wouldn't surprise me if NEXT year is the year we redshirt Wolfe. He needs to really work on his body, and to learn the game.

Not so much for the 2 forwards that Lanier red shirted (Caldwell & Green) I am all for redshirting players if the talent is there for the player to be a significant piece in their Jr and Sr seasons. But, it also has to be the right kid who is willing to put in all the work to get better during his red shirt season. I don't know enough about Wolfe or any of the other kids in the program to say whether it makes sense or not. I tend to agree with Tony that it is going to be difficult for Paige and Brandwijk to earn a lot of playing time next year. If they do, you know it means they are really, really good.

I'm hoping that can be improved if not playing time is not going to come easy or at all. Sometimes kids have the ability to play aggressively sometimes they don't... we need him to play like Brett.

He plays "soft" for two reasons: 1)he has no muscle so he's hesitant to mix it up and 2) he doesn't fully understand where to be on the floor for many of the teams offensive and defensive sets. 18 months to work out/learn would be a great benefit to him, and the team in '16, '17 and '18. AS for the Masters question, just let the kid take 12 credits each semster instead of 15. Should all eqaul out to 120 credits in the end.

From what I've seen Jimmy Paige is now our most athletic wing. On top of that, the statistics that I've seen show that he is a very good FT shooter and has a positive assist ratio. These were limited statistics and in different places but still they are suggestive. On top of that, we hear about him making 4-5 threes in some games. Based on how those other 2 guys on his team hog the ball, you have to figure it wasn't because he was volume shooting. So he's bouncy athletic, is strong, has size, can shoot it, and may make smart decisions with the ball. If he can really do all of those things, that would give us exactly one guard like that. On a team with so many guys who do only 1 or 2 things well...a guy who may be able to do it all has a lot of different ways to earn playing time.

You don't need to be enrolled in a Masters program to utilize a 5th year. He can double major or add a minor for additional credits.
Lets see what he looks like come October before we decide whether a redshirt makes sense or not.

If anything, Wolfe would be able to add muscle and experience and Bradwijk would redshirt. You dont redshirt a player as a sophomore.

On a team with so many guys who do only 1 or 2 things well...a guy who may be able to do it all has a lot of different ways to earn playing time. Paige is 6’4” and being a good shooter in High school and college are two different things—I have no doubt Jimmy is a good prospect –and I hope he does get 15 to 20 min a game—that would mean he is a really good player—hell if he gets into the rotation that will be a good thing since it means he is still pretty darn good- all I’m saying lets hold off on putting him into the playing rotation until/unless he earns it – I do agree he brings some things we need, but we have been burned on freshmen many times, he is going to have to be a hell of a player to get time next year -- with Poole- Cole- Long.. those guys are going to “demand” a lot of time on the floor( at the 2-3-4) —Oliver has really blossomed into a solid role player that doesn’t make a lot of mistakes , White has a lot of potential and Hymes can really fill it up—minutes will be hard to come by -- and I’m by no means down playing Paige Willem faces a similar problem – Bisping has blossomed into basically a 3rd team ALL MAAC’er next year—Silas blocks shots like it’s his job, JO and Wolfe have potential and will have advantage of a year in system and college weight program. Long will get some minutes at the 4--- again I hope Willem gets into the rotation next year..means he will be pretty good- much tougher to break into lineup on a veteran team that is losing nobody and adds a potential very good player in Cole… but I will add those are good problems to have. I have a feeling we will have an more aggressive press next year for a few reasons- to get more players minutes and plus we should be more athletic and much deeper next year.If the newcomers can play I'm sure Jimmy will find time for them-- but they will have to do it the old fashioned way "earn it"

Physically, I think WB is ahead of MW, thus he should redshirt. With Cole in the mix (who i think gets 25-30 min a night), i see Long getting minutes at the 4, with Bisping at center occasionally for Silas. JO gets a few, where do both Wolfe and WB get any?? One of them should redshirt. ps--I think Paige gets any minutes White was getting too. When he realizes that is the real question.

I dont totally disagree with redshirting either player-- kind of early to talk about it now- lets see how much Wolfe develops and how good Brandwijk is... again this is a "good" problem to have
