Just the opposite Saintfan! I fell in love with him at the Albany game big time was want him to be a key guy. I just watch his time dwindling and the body language. Plus we have all seen his dad's frustration. I hope he stays but wonder if he will. 1 minute last night says a lot Maurice looked like a winner ....he makes mistakes but he seemed to have starter potential....what happened???

Believe me, I really like the kid! He's tough and plays good defense. Problem is, he can't throw it in the ocean. His offensive game is regulated to bullying his way to the basket and hoping to draw a foul. That was effective in the beginning of the year when refs were really trying to set the tone for the year by blowing the whistle too much. Once they let the kids play, it really highlighted Whites offensive shortcomings.

Part of the problem with White is that Jimmy has given him the hook far faster than anyone else. There were a lot of games this season where we came in, made a nice defensive play, grabbed a nice rebound, then missed one shot and was immediately yanked and buried on the bench the rest of the game. I hope he comes back and hope Jimmy gives him an opportunity to play through some mistakes next year. We should have more capable scorers next year so a good defending and rebounding guard could be very useful, especially if he can improve offensively.

$cott is right on the quick hooks. Must be tough for the kid. But,like he does with Evan it seems, Jimmy pulls White when he is taking an out of control shot. Every team needs a tough defender like him so I hope he stays.

Ryan Oliver happened. This is a team that struggles to score so to have a guard who isn't a good shooter and turns the ball over playing alongside a pg who also isn't a great shooter...it bogs down the offense. It was the same story all year. Once Ryan started defending and rebounding, it was over. He doesn't make mistakes and he'll hit the occasional three. The change to Oliver is a big reason for the team's improvement. Teams have to respect his shooting and he turns the ball over the least per minute of any guy on the team. I like White's toughness but if it were me I'd have sacrificed that for offense and ball control from the get go. You can't play with 1 shooter lineups like Jimmy did so much early in the year. You need 2 minimum to have a chance to avoid long scoring droughts. I would have given Oliver and Hymes more run from the beginning and tried to win games on turnover margin and better shooting but perhaps they wouldn't have learned to be as tough as they are now so maybe it was a blessing.

Let's not get crazy here!! White isn't close to being as good as Kojo was. Kojo would have been All-MAAC 3 years in a row if he stayed.

One thing Jimmy is with his quick hooks....FAIR!! EVERYONE, including Wright, Poole and Long get them if they screw up. no favorites when it comes to that. the difference is, the 3 aforementioned players get to go back in immediately to rectify their mistakes, whereas White may have lost his 2nd chance for the night.

When the season started, Jimmy was looking for that " other " shooter. And it was going to come down to Audu, Oliver or White. Oliver was the best of the three-end of story!

White's shot did not progress as far this year as anyone associated with the team would have hoped, but he is a Jimmy recruit so I bet he gets a shot you come back and earn more playing time. IMHO

Maurice is one of the most exciting players to watch on the team when he is in the game. Lavon and Marquis have enough minutes behind them to consider them sophomores at this point, but White hasn't had those minutes to help him grow yet. I think he'll polish up well in the off-season and I hope he'll come back strong.
As for Willem, this is a good grab. Postseason play could've only helped in netting him as it will certainly help going forward too.
