On our final possession of regulation as we were executing ( ?) I noticed Jimmy having an animated conversation with Ryan Oliver who was IN THE GAME! Coach, we had TO's left, if you saw that things weren't working and had to DISTRACT Ryan with some verbal tirade to the point that he was looking at you and not what was going on in the play (?) why the hell didn't you call a timeout? I know coaching philosophy differs on calling timeouts then but don't take one player out of the flow. Call the timeout and give him an earful or whatever! Inexcusable!

Agreed but remember even though he's been a HC for several years he has coached almost entirely with no one paying attention. I think he has shown signs a couple times already this year that his is catching on to a simple fact: This is Siena and he needs to up HIS game too...

JP truly is the 6th man every time they get the ball the Pg is looking over his shoulder for the play. Constantly yelling and distracting players. No relying on what they learned.

Racer - it is a new & young team. Coaches in general tend to coach a lot more during the game when they have young or new teams. JP has both this year. Now if he does it forever that will be a problem... Still agree though with concern about not calling a TO at the end of the game.

I know he's new and they are young but my gosh. I don't care if it wins games, it's just an observation I'm making. Sheez, It's distracting me during the game.

I think the other question has to be... Why did they slow things down around the 5 minute mark? It appeared that they stopped attacking and just wasted time of the clock.

And that may be because of this 'flex' system - I think a lot of it had to do with the fact they were missing some key guys who would normally be part of that flex.

In his presser, he said he didn't change the offense to slow it down (they were still looking for "quick hitters"). Long followed out with 4+ min to go. No question the offense bogged down some after that. Q locked down on Poole and Evan wasn't on offensively so our options became quite limited.
