6 of the 7 vs teams towards the bottom of the MAAC 4 of the 7 at home
We have SPC, @ FF,Nia, Quinn,@spc , FF, @marist
Siena can lose to any of these teams—but we can certainly beat them all
Would like to see Saints win 5 of the next 7 – it’s certainly “doable” but wont be easy

We should be no more than a 1.5 point underdog in the next 8, let's win them all.

I'd like to see us finish at least 10-10 in the MAAC which means we need to go 7-5. The final four games are against Manhattan, at Rider, at Quinnipic and Monmouth. It will probably be tough to do better than 2-2 in those games so winning 5 out of the next 7 is imperative if we are going to finish at least .500 in the league.
Go back to 2005-2006 (Fran's first year) we were 5-8 in the league through 13 games and ended up 10-8 (finished 4th). I'm hoping Jimmy can keep the team positive and win the games that on paper we SHOULD win. The good news is we are done with Iona and have already played Canisius and Manhattan on the road. Time to make hey at the TUC starting with St. Peter's on Thursday night!

While there are no 'easy" games in MAAC fact is Five of the Saints’ first seven games were against teams currently tied for first in the conference. Siena plays six of its next seven games against teams in the bottom five in the MAAC standings. .. so we should get a better idea where Saints stack up over next few weeks

I think we'll be fine at home, it's when we hit the road we're capable of losing to anybody. It's young team!

1-3 for the last four was expected. A test for Jimmy to keep the kids from losing confidence after big losses.

First, let me say I am of the opinion that this is a total rebuilding year, But, in losing an inordinate amount of games on the road, accepting the fact that we are 'just not that talented' is a rapier. It can infiltrate a feeling of 'we are mediocre' anyway so it is what it is. On the other hand, it is, I would agree, that we are a mid pack or lower MAAC team is stone cold fact at this point and that will be the basis for house (roster) cleaning and over recruitment. We don't like to talk about this, but again, that is the reality as I am not sure the overall plan is sitting on three recruiting classes to get back into the top 3 in this league with a legitimate chance to go to the tournament and be competitive.

I love these young kids but Jimmy has to continue to recruit, build and improve the talent pool he has to work with. That's exactly what he's getting paid the big bucks to do. I love the direction we're going but there is still work to be done recruiting to give these kids a chance to compete at the level we all want to see.

I agree, in fact a rebuilding year to me is what we don't compete for the league championship. As long as Siena is in the MAAC we should always contend for the championship at a minimum. But when you are playing so many freshmen and the rest of the team has never played on a winning team you need a year to rebuild. I've probably said it 100 times but I'll say it again - Jimmy's #1 priority had to be to change the culture of the past three years. I think he is doing that my holding people accountable and instilling disciple with the players and coaches for that matter. I don't think Jimmy is outwardly saying the things we might post here to the team because that would feed into the loser's mentality. A good coach is always pumping their team up like we can do it and we WILL do it. The PW never got that, it was all negativity. As for next year... I don't think any freshmen are going any place (all but JO are Jimmy's signed players) and doubt the seniors (Poole, Hymes, Silas) are going anyplace so you can deduce who might decide to move on. Jimmy knows that he is expected to win big and he embraces it that's why he took the job (he's said it more than once).

I think Jimmy expects them ALL to go through a serious self evaluation at the end of the season and so do I. The discipline and accountability still has a long way to go. Just MHO.
