JP beginning to remind me of Casey Stengel with his post-game comments. Incoherent babble. Losing is tough on everyone.

Was at the game tonight. Chilling in Times Square trying to forget some of what we saw.
- First half Siena wasn't stopping the ball on the break. - some dumb fouls didn't help - some bad officiating (not necessarily home job) didn't help
Hymes was way overmatched. Forced it over and over. Wolfe not getting PT is puzzling. Poole struggled a LOT from the perimeter. EVERYTHING was short. Long had a bad game but looked like he might be ill or something. Took a NASTY head shot early.
Need more talent and more experience for the talent that is here

I don't think it is a coincidence that we lost by 22 points and the women't team lost the same night that Mitch was on campus.

Was at the game. Patsos is a good coach - he knows what he is doing. The halfcourt sets are good, very similar to McCaffery. There are just a couple of spots where Siena is overmatched due to talent.
Siena needs to get bigger and they need more talent. Patsos will win a lot of games at Siena. Thank God he has Wright - that kid is going to win a bunch.

Can not believe ESPN3 is showing Niagara-Fairfield, a combined 1-11 in MAAC. Not a smart way to showcase your league. Siena-Manhattan should be much more of a entertaining game. I understand every team has to be shown throughout the season but not against each other. FWI, according to the Manhattan board today Rhamel Brown might not play or be very limited with an Achilles injury. Of course that probably means he plays 30 minutes but we shall see.
Good call on the entertaining game. This fan of a low budget program will try to remain in 1st tomorrow.

Stop it--- Siena was on offense the foul was a delayed call for going over the back. How about start of second half when Lavon bumped a kid 70 feet from basket- was an obvious foul call that refs let go- had they called it Lavon would have fouled out in 15 min instead of the 19 it took him

Need more talent and more experience for the talent that is here Wolfe not playing was a big topic on post game- he just isn't strong enough yet- if basketball wasn't a contact sport Wolfe would be a star. Kid needs to get stronger. Fans see the obvious potential- watch him on defense he gets muscled by guards, let along big men. Siena is playing a lot of 18-19 year olds vs 22-23 year olds- they will get stronger. JO has struggled since coming back from injury hasn't been finishing ( strength??) Its not going to be easy but we need a combo guard ( Taplin?) and maybe an athletic forward type that can shoot. That makes us bigger and faster at 2 and 3 and 4.. I think Silas- JO- Wolfe will develop at 5 and and Lavon can be a good 4, and Brett can be a solid player

Wow - lots of ups and downs this season. Just remember we all, or at least almost all, recognized at the beginning of the season that the cupboard was left nearly empty for Jimmy. He's brought in some talented freshmen who just need time to develop. Siena is in the mix and maybe even leading for some very talented recruits. Better times are on the horizon and getting closer day by day.
One thing that I'd like to see Jimmy loosen up on just a little bit: let the kids play through some of their mistakes not every time but more frequently. We can't have the kids playing with the fear of being yanked out of the game at the first mistake all the time.

The guys are fired up...they have moved on to the next game not making any excuses for this loss...stay tuned and keep up the support They should have been fired up coming out for the second half, and I didn't see much fire walking with them to the bus, which really concerns me because as a 55 year old woman I was pissed as hell that they were ass kicked into the Hudson River. I too am guilty of thinking they were more than they are (possibly), but overall, the upper classmen have improved over their past Siena seasons. Sorry, but the only consistent freshman is Wright- the others have been inconsistent, foul prone and have an excuse after too many games. I will exclude Michael Wolfe because I don't think he has played enough and I do think he is potentially the best of all them in tandem with Wright. We are 18 games in, adjustments and roles should be set. We have seen enough to know who can play where in this league. And, in another news flash (you can ask several former Siena players): in this league players get 'marked' by refs as foul prone and it will LAST FOR THEIR WHOLE CAREER. Anyone remember Dave Adams (ref) calling a foul on David Ryan's number at Iona a few years back while Ryan was on the bench? ? There are always certain players in this league who any dim-witted coaching staff knows that they can EASIILY foul out just by going at them and that is a SMART strategy with this team because it takes the wind out of their sails too easily. Finally, I agree with not giving a rats A$$ who plays or does not play what freaking position when the TEAM takes a 22 point beat down.

With Beamon out this is still the same Manhattan team that came within 3 points of winning the MAAC last year plus Ashton Pankey. I think people are way too down on this game just because Beamon was out. This was one of the two games this year I had penciled in as no chance in winning. The other is Sunday so stealing one there will way more than offset this one in my book. This week is probably going to be a rough one but the team's success is totally based on how the 8 games after Iona go. They have a shot at winning all 8 of those games.

I agree..there was a thread about a week ago about these four games (Marist, Iona, at Manhattan, at Iona) most thought we would be 1-3 or 2-2 at best. The game Sunday hurt because we had a good shot at beating Iona coming back until Wright fouled out. Last night's game was a tough test with or without Beamon. With Beamon healthy Manhattan is easily the team to beat - without him they still are a top MAAC team. We need to play better defense and take care of the ball though regardless of who we play and where. The next 8 games after Iona are very winnable. Hope for at least a 5-3 stretch. 1/23 vs. St. Peter's 1/26 @ Fairfield 1/30 vs. Niagara 2/1 vs. Quinnipiac 2/7 @ St. Peter's 2/10 vs. Fairfield 2/14 @ Marist 2/16 vs. Canisius
