This is still a young team- and like all young teams they are going to inconsistent ! The lads just need time to mature! On the bright side - Oliver had 13 points! Not too bad!

On pace for our fourth straight losing season, its becoming increasingly difficult to stay positive.

Outside of Poole and Wright there is just a clustereff of average to below average MAAC players on this roster...its unfortunate Dipset- Give it time. We all knew we would take our lumps this year. I'd say in the long term future this team will get better, but we're asking a lot out of a lot of freshmen, sophomores who played for a coach that had very little idea of what he was doing, juniors who had to experience more of the coach with no clue, and no seniors. Short term? Fix as best as possible the mistakes we made tonight. Cut down the freaking turnovers. What did you expect talent wise? That's not meant to be a harsh question, I just wanted to know. I for one expected to A. Make layups, B. Hit open jump shots, C. Limit turnovers, D. And possibly be able to throw a dunk down!!!

On pace for our fourth straight losing season, its becoming increasingly difficult to stay positive. I hear you. But it is going to get better and soon. But we are going to have to take some lumps this season. We will have our good moments (mostly at home) but we also are going to have nights like this unfortunately. The damage the PW did to this program is nothing compared to what Beyer and Lanier did. Now Jimmy will not and can not use that as an excuse going forward but for this year it's the truth.

We're going to struggle on the road against good teams but w/ that being said I expect to be closer than 22 points.
This team has issues on defense and with speed. I like man D but we!re to slow.

Let's try to keep in mind that Manhattan is the best team in the conference and we were playing at their place. Yeah, Beamon didn't play, but it's still a tough road game for a young team. Things will turn around and get better. It's one game.

Understand the past but please time to let it go. My issue is that these freshmen have now played 18 regular season games and another 6 pre-season. Would like to see some improvement out of the 5 freshmen and in my opinion the only one that has been steady and shown can raise Siena to the next level in the MAAC is Wright. Every other one has either regressed or not shown any improvement. I am not one to keep on believing in hype or potential...a little more improvement should be seen after 18 games. Just my opinion

Everyone can hate me for this but pull 1 more scholarship from a current player and bring in some more B'more talent!!!

D Recruit some more talented kids would help. Everyone take a breath. It's a rebuilding year. We are what we used to be fellas. We're Siena in a conference called the MAAC. We are not Syracuse in the ACC or Kentucky in the SEC. We are a mid major program. While Siena does have a good past of great moments- this program historically has its ups and downs. We're somewhat down this year, but its trending upwards. Typical programs in the mid majors have their ups and downs. Did anybody know about Wichita State a few years ago? Creighton? Butler? Gonzaga twenty years ago? No, because those programs have their ups and downs. We have had our bad luck in the past most recently due to the last one. Understandable- but you can't do anything about spilled milk except clean it up, which Jimmy is going to do. I am confident there is a plan in place to improve this team. I know we expect greatness, but greatness at this level takes time to develop. It will come.

Just think Saints fans, you have 3 1/2 years remaining of momma Long being concerned about her son's individual stats and position over the good of team. I got beat up on this board before the season for saying Lavon was foul prone and did not have the skill set for the guard or small forward position at the college level. The kid grew up playing the 4-5 in AAU and high school, but PPC rewrote his basketball history when she introduced him to this board as a versatile power guard. She convinced many of you, that I was positing to start trouble not giving an honest assessment of Lavon's skill level. She truly believes he is Lebron like and capable of running the point as a power guard. We've had over 18,500 post of this nonsense on our board. Buckle up the ride has just started. lol

Our biggest problem with recruiting isn't Jimmy or the staffs ability to recruit, but our limited number of scholarships that are available. We have a walk on position and a scholarship to give. As much as I do not want to see players get pushed out, I think Audu might be a player that considers moving on for his final 2 years. That open scholarship will be huge for us to get.

There is a right way and a wrong way to do it. But we all know D1 basketball is a tough business. Jimmy knows he has to win. He has said many times "If I don't win they'll fire me". We have one scholarship available and someone I think another one will somehow open up at the end of the season.
