Sorry, but while I would have 'bought into' that some of the kids could by tired after the Orlando trip, I am not buying it now. School is on break, these kids can get as much sleep as they want as they are only responsible for lifting and practices. You know what your schedule is going to be at the beginning of the season, so as a coaching staff, you prepare for that lull and build in 'recoup' time (which I believe was done). Sorry, start of the MAAC schedule and a run of home games is not the time to throw up 'being tired' as an excuse to blow a 10 point lead and look very soft and sloppy in the second half of a very winnable game.

Cant speak for all the guys but Lavon Long is not tired. He disrupted the flow being late for the bus and forced Patsos to change the starting lineup. I would say that played a part in the rough start as Patsos went into quick hook strategy ala Canisius for the first few minutes of the 1st half. Although the team was able to settle down and even take the lead Monmouth had confidence on their home floor with our slow start...Then the foul trouble that has hurt us all year adds fuel to the fire and the game got away from us....
I am confident we can compete with Rider tonight...our regular starting 5 matches up well with them. Stewart is a handful hopefully we can make him work on defense and Myles is an aggressive offensive player that takes alot of shots so we need to make sure he has to work for them. GO SAINTS!

PPC I appreciate your candor, but Lavon obviously wasn't the only one who disrupted flow during that game. You and I are much alike in our belief that almost any game is winnable, if you don't think so then don't come out of the locker room (NOT talking OOC games so much, however, I do think we could have beaten Purdue

The mental aspect of a college season will show it's ugly head when you rely so heavily on freshman. They're not tired, just maybe not focused as well as they should be. There's a lot of down time during the break. How to deal with that takes experience. That comes with maturity and leadership. We don't have a vocal leader on this team. Wright will be that kid soon IMHO.
